This review is being left for documentation purposes, both for the store and for myself.
I have been a consistent shopper at this H-E-B location since it opened and have generally had positive experiences. I plan to continue supporting this store provided this type of interaction does not continue beyond tonight, January 9, 2026.
At approximately 6:37 p.m., I completed my transaction, exited the store, and placed my groceries in my vehicle. I then decided to sit in my car and eat a small snack (chips), which is something I do frequently after shopping. My vehicle was running, my headlights were off, no music was playing, and my grocery bags were clearly visible in the passenger seat beside me. I was simply sitting in my car, scrolling on my phone and eating.
At approximately 7:00 p.m., a security guard approached my vehicle on foot and stood by my driver’s side window. She said, “Hello, what brings you to H-E-B?” I was genuinely confused by the question and responded, “Excuse me?” She repeated, “What brings you to H-E-B tonight?” I then stated that I had just finished grocery shopping. She responded, “Oh, enjoying a snack before you leave?” I said yes. She then said “Okay,” returned to her vehicle, and drove off.
The security guard was a young Hispanic woman whom I had never seen at this location before. Typically, I see different security personnel here, and in all the time I have shopped at this store including many occasions where I have sat in my car for extended periods after shopping I have never experienced an interaction like this.
I am a single Black woman. I am not stating that this interaction was racially motivated. However, it was an unusual and nerve-racking experience, particularly given the current climate in the United States, where being approached unexpectedly by someone in a uniform can be concerning. At the moment she approached my vehicle, I was not entirely certain who she was until I observed her return to a marked security vehicle.
After this incident, I did contact the store manager to report the experience. He indicated that he was not familiar with this security guard and stated that he would follow up with the appropriate parties to redirect this type of behavior so it does not happen again. I appreciated his willingness to listen and address the concern.
I am still leaving this review for documentation purposes in the event similar interactions occur in the future. I hope this was an isolated incident and that no further issues arise.
Delina helped take my families order at True Texas BBQ and was beyond friendly. She helped make suggestions as this was our first time trying the food. I believe her above and beyond approach deserves recognition.

This is not the best HEB, but it's closest to me. The managers near the cash registers are absolutely rude and downright mean at times. They will yell at you like you're stupid when it gets busy instead of, you know, politely asking people to move to this line or that line. One time I turned my cart sideways while in line to clear up more room for people walking behind me, and the manager condescendingly told me, "Okay sweetie, the line goes this way," and moved my cart back. Don't talk to me like I'm dumb!
Another issue is soooo much produce will be out of stock by 11am on a Saturday, and it's the same stuff every week. I often find myself having to come back the next day or stop somewhere else on the way home. You would think that when organic mushrooms run out every single Saturday before noon even hits that the managers would learn to order more. I guess not.
Also, why does this store feel the need to reorganize half of its items every month? It's so incredibly frustrating to have to play a scavenger hunt game with items I regularly buy. I've never shopped somewhere that does this.
I love, love, love HEB, but this location is oftentimes frustrating when produce I need runs out, I can't find regular goods I purchase, and then one of those nasty managers is yelling at me like a moron while I'm trying to get in line. I think I'm going to drive the extra distance to Allen or McKinney, I've never had these issues at those locations. Plus the workers over there tend to be more friendly, no one really smiles at you at this store.
Reducing one more star after seeing Owner response, he is only blaming employees even though I've mentioned setup is distracting too.
Very good large Grocery. A lot of ready to cook Selection. Good priced. But I left my cheese there after paying. It is my bad, but I shell reduce one star. Biggest My bad but casher and helper missed. It was express lane! Setup was crowded and distracting around checkout. I noticed H-E-B has light colored table with plastic bags contrast other store has dark one and plastic bags seperated.
HEB has a lot of positives, however the small cramped parking lot with no sidewalks or places to walk safely between cars is awful, example of bad planning by the people in charge, who only choose greed.
Perhaps H-E-B will plan the next HEB much better because the Plano location is a parking and walking nightmare.
A reminder, H-E-B, gas or diesel is not top-tier gas/diesel, if you don’t know about toptiergas.com concept, look it up… but neither is Walmart, Albertsons or most other grocery stores with low priced gas because they choose the gas with the lowest amount of fuel additives which costs less, again greed drives those decisions. And buying gas from these low fuel additives results in the engine being slowly damaged by gunk.
Costco is top tier fuel and most other brand name gas if you care.
