  They charge $9 for delivery, just to use third party services. The website and my address are clear as day including what was in stock, yet the third party individual apparently couldn’t find 90% of the items in stock. Who gets the $9 for delivery since HEB definitely doesn’t do their job, why are the items available online under the store code, if they aren’t? So they don’t pack these orders themselves like Walmart employees, they send random folks to do this. Way to go! Will never use HEB again.

  LITTERALLY most racist manager and worker. We were at check out when the cashier , MINNAE N, scanned an item that was on discount , I had taken a picture of the price because it always happens that on display it’s a price and then cashier says something else. So I showed her and she’s giving me this attitude “ma’am that’s not the price because it shows me here that it’s $8.99. Like girl can you not read. So she calls her MANAGER (kirsim) or something like that. And he fixes it because she was wrong. At the end of scanning the items, my husband who is 45 , has a grey beard grey hair , literally looks older than 30 hands her a beer to scan. So she asked for an ID, till then ok, understandable bc it’s her job. What isn’t understandable is when he gives her the ID, she says “no, it has to be an American ID” so he gives her another form of ID that states he’s Mexican American and she goes “AMERICAN ID” . Excuse me..? So I tell her , “it’s an ID, with his date on it. He doesn’t have a Texas ID, is this new because we’ve never had this issue before”. We’ve bought beer and alcohol before and didn’t get asked for an ID. She calls KIRSIM again and he goes “it needs to be any goverment issued ID”. Like what is this? A bank? Since when did we need a TEXAS ID. My husband ended up telling her to leave it and we left. I called that night to ask for corporate number and same guys, kirsim. He hung up on me the first time. I will be calling corporate about this, posting it on Reddit and all platforms. Ridiculous, how are you Indian and African American, PEOPLE OF COLOR and denying your brothers and sister with COLOR. Clearly history shows you nothing , I will be talking to HR ABOUT THIS UNTIL something is done about kirsim and MINNAE N.

  I ordered a custom cake weeks in advance and was told, very confidently, “No problem!” which apparently meant, “we’ll make something pink and call it a day.” What I ordered: a detailed, vintage-style heart cake with layered piping and ribbons for my daughter’s 13th birthday. What I received: a knockoff “Nailed It” version. Aggressively not what I asked for. The cake and the inspiration photo have clearly never met If this wasn’t doable, I really wish someone had said so instead of confidently saying yes. Staff was nice when I ordered, so that’s cool- and gave them ⭐️⭐️ for that.

  There really is nothing else quite like HEB and it is obvious from the moment you pull into the parking lot. This store is gorgeous and ridiculously clean and well organized for the sheer amount of traffic they get every single day. The selection is second to none. They have virtually any kind of grocery item you could ever need which is something I sorely miss after living in rural east Texas. High quality produce, meat, and cheese. The single serve/ready-to-eat-meal selection is something to behold and shockingly affordable. Not to mention they have darn near every beer I could ever want. The staff are also some of the most friendly and helpful people I’ve ever encountered in a public space. If I could nitpick one singular thing about this store, it would be the bakery section. While what they have is fantastic and obviously made in house, I just wish they had a larger selection of pastries like HEB’s sister store, Central Market. Overall, they are truly the best of the best. If I lived closer, I would shop nowhere else.

  I had a very uncomfortable and upsetting experience at the self-checkout. The employee named Sherry singled me out, made fun of me, and mocked me while laughing with other coworkers. This behavior was disrespectful, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. It made me so uncomfortable that I forgot to use my discount coupons and even left a bag behind. This started when I had 14 items at a 10-item self-checkout. I calmly explained that I was making two separate purchases because I wanted to check out flowers separately, and the 25-item checkout had a long line while the 10-item checkout was empty. At the same time, I clearly saw other customers using the same checkout with 30 or more items and no one said a word to them. When I pointed this out, her response was that she “didn’t catch them,” followed by her openly mocking me with a coworker and laughing. After I moved to the 25-item line, I watched even more customers with well over 10 items continue using the self-checkout without being stopped. I have been shopping at H-E-B for years, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. The selective enforcement, the disrespect, and the public mocking were humiliating. I genuinely felt targeted, and no customer should ever be treated this way. Shame on H-E-B for allowing this kind of behavior on the floor. I expect management to take this seriously and address it immediately.
