Moved here 10 years ago and central was my go to for the best meat and seafood especially the seafood specials, but lately it has been disappointing at the lack of seafood specials and the seafood selection! The case looks half empty lately. Went there today Ash Wednesday and the first day of lent expecting something good to be on special and NOPE, shrimp as usual it’s always on special. No fish…. Really? You need to replace whoever is doing your ordering.

At 5:10 PM yesterday(Feb 16) at self-checkout, an asian employee questioned why I split my payment. I explained I was shopping for my family. When I used a coupon, she spoke in a harsh, directive tone and warned it could only be used once, though I never intended to reuse it. As she left, she pointed to the camera and said it was watching, which made me feel accused of theft. I am a loyal customer, and this treatment was unacceptable.

I recently attended a cooking class at Central Market and it was absolutely outstanding from start to finish! The entire experience was fun, interactive, and incredibly well organized. The kitchen setup was clean and professional, the ingredients were fresh and high quality, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the evening. A huge shoutout to Chef Nancy — she was an awesome teacher! She explained techniques clearly, made complex steps feel simple, and kept the class engaging the entire time. Her energy, patience, and genuine passion for cooking really made the experience special. She struck the perfect balance between teaching and making it fun. We walked away with new skills, great recipes, and an even greater appreciation for the process. Strange staff behavior. Stood behind a central market employee at the salad bar while they took their time making sure to touch all the tongs while I just stood there waiting and then they asked me to pick up a piece of food while I was trying to get my food…then noticed another employee directing another customer. Weird.
