What I have a harder time overlooking, however, is being ignored. I try to be understanding. I have children who work in the service industry, and I hear all the stories about difficult and demanding customers. During my visit, the main issue was that the soda fountains were completely out of ice. If the drinks had been even somewhat cold, I wouldn’t have minded, but they were lukewarm. I politely asked about getting ice, both in English and Spanish, but I was ignored several times. Eventually, I stopped an employee and asked who I could speak to. She pointed me to a lady at the front, and when I asked her, she simply said “okay.” We went ahead and ate, and the grandkids enjoyed playing games, but even by the time we left, no ice was ever brought out. For the amount of money we spent, being ignored over such a simple request was very disappointing.
