It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

    Today I went to this place and I am very unhappy with the service every one was moving around like a dear in head light i even asked the young lady that took my order to repeat my order back to me as well as the price.that did not help because my order was still wrong and my food was cold and all that the manager had to say was I’ll check the food temperature….i will never in my life go back to this place after I get my refund for this and by the way it’s my birthday smh please go anywhere else Bur this location if you want to really enjoy your food for what it should be.

    Every time we come, the tables are dirty. The burgers are good, tasty, and juicy, and the staff is friendly. However, when they brought our food, one of our burgers was missing, and it took them longer than usual to bring the replacement.

    I was very disappointed with my recent visit 2/15/2026, which is surprising because this has always been one of my favorite Whataburger locations. I stop by frequently when I’m working in Mesquite—usually four or five times a month. I ordered a Cobb Salad with extra chicken to take to work but received a regular Garden Salad with no eggs, cheese, or bacon. Mistakes happen, of course, but when I called to inform the store, Michelle, the managing partner, told me I would need to return to the restaurant to have it corrected or to receive a refund. I completely understand that policy when dining in, but since I had already taken the order to work, returning wasn’t practical. It was frustrating to feel like there was no reasonable solution—either eat the incorrect order or go without lunch and come back later for it to be fixed correctly or refund. This experience was disappointing, especially coming from management at a location I’ve always liked and recommended!!

    The restaurant was clean when I walked in. There were two couples dining and one customer behind me. The cashier was pleasant, but unfortunately did not greet me. I understand most of the staff are young teens, but a simple “hi” or “hello” goes a long way. When I opened my burger, the lettuce did not look fresh — it was yellow, which was disappointing. The onion slices were also inconsistent in size, with some very small pieces and others quite large. I know the employees are preparing food according to instructions, but management should ensure better quality ingredients, as yellow lettuce affects both taste and presentation. I don’t like to compare, but competitors like In-N-Out use fresh, vibrant, and consistently cut lettuce, which makes a noticeable difference.
