The food is always FRESH, the smoothies are delicious, and we are so happy we don’t have to drive all the way to McKinney once a week. The store is well staffed with employees who are highly trained. They can make many substitutions for you to fit your diet, like changing protein powders (I have a nut allergy) and cutting sugar by using other substitutes if you’re cutting calories. This is maybe the only place with a drive-through in Melissa where you can get a really fresh wrap or salad that is going to taste great every time. Each member of my household has a favorite smoothie. There’s a great variety, and the texture of the smoothies is perfect. Every time I go in, the employees are excited to work there and greet me warmly. I had never had breakfast at Tropical Smoothie before this week, but they have some delicious breakfast quesadillas. We will keep going back for more in my household!

I was cheerfully greeted when I arrived, my order was ready and waiting for me, and it was exactly what I ordered, including my modification. This is more than I can say for Smoothie King on their best day. So why only 3 stars for my rating? I’m glad you asked. I ordered an Acai Bowl, and it was so sickly sweet, I felt like I was eating a dessert. I didn’t feel great afterwards, and I checked the nutrition facts. The bowl has an ADDED 44 grams of sugar. If you’re looking for a sweet dessert and want to fool yourself and play like you’re healthy, this might be the place for you. As for me, I think I’ll stick to Vitality Bowls, or Jeremiah’s if I want a cheat day. It just doesn’t make sense to spend $12 on a bowl that’s really just dessert
