  We picked up our order yesterday around 6:50 PM — a lamb + avocado bowl and a grilled chicken grain bowl — and it was honestly one of the worst meals we’ve ever been served. 1 There was barely any meat in either bowl. The chicken wasn’t even in pieces; it was just dry crumbles. The lamb “meatballs” were burnt, hard, and tasted like they’d been sitting out all day. 2 The rice was dry, crusty, and tasted like someone scraped the bottom of the pan just to fill the bowl. 3 The avocado in BOTH bowls was so discolored and unappetizing we couldn’t even bring ourselves to touch it. 4 They didn’t even bother to include the pita bread. We ended up eating it anyway because we were starving and didn’t have the money to go buy another meal — and sure enough, my husband ended up with stomach issues afterwards. At this point, it feels like CAVA on the W. University Drive, McKinney, Tx is so focused on cutting corners and saving money that they’ve forgotten how to meet even the most basic standards of food quality. It’s genuinely disappointing.

  If you order from this location make sure to walk in and watch them make the bowl. I have ordered pick up and had the same issue multiple times. If I pick it up or if I do uber eats. There is always something missing and it’s disappointing every time. Missing side sauce and missing items in the bowls. Love cava but this location doesn’t do a great job at online orders.

  I would to say Brandy is the BEST!!!! You definitely need to visit the Cava location. Brandy and Ethan are supper dope. I just gave a review but here’s the UPDATE FOR I WENT this same location November 15 2025. So the place opens up at 1030am. I open the door walked in at 10:29am. I was greeted very rudely from a gentleman saying that we’re not open and didn’t have anything out yet. I was like 0h ok and walked back towards my car. I go back ten minutes later and a young lady takes my order. I get to the cash register cause she initially she ignored me when I asked for some pita chips . I get to the register and asked again. Her response to me was again rude and she stated “ there was none made” I then said that’s ok. I’ll can’t wait on them to be cooked cause I was gonna dine in. I waited for 20 mins lost track of time cause I was on the phone. So I walked back over to the register and asked if I could please get some sauce to go. That was a problem for her. Smh so then I asked for the pita chips again she tried gave me some other stuff which was not what I asked for. She literally lied and argued with me saying I never asks for pita chips. I then asked for her name and she looked at me and walked off. I then stated I knew her manager and I was speak to her. She immediately stated talking crap to another girl that was working there. I WILL NEVER EVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME AT THIS LOCATION EVER. Not sure what’s attitudes are for from these two individuals but if you don’t like ppl DONT WORK IN THE PUBLIC. I wished Brandy was there cause I know she wouldn’t have allowed that at all.

  3 stars because my order wasn't complete ( had to ask for everything but the bowl) and when getting my drink the fountain machine was out so I brought it to the manager's attention and was told "if we're out we're out". Edit to add I had a pick up order and was actually 10 minutes late to pick it up. Definitely my least favorite Cava location I've been to.
