I thought I found a good place to eat, but last week I ordered a jerk plate for 1799 on lunch and told everyone about it. When I went to order this week, it is now 2899. That’s absolutely crazy. The food portions were definitely not worth 2899.

Drove an hour from Fort Worth, just to give this restaurant a try and it was 100% percent worth it! The food was delicious, the Jamaican Curry Goat was fall off the bone. The Jamaican Jerk Chicken was perfectly spicy, complimented by the Jollif Rice and Rice and Peas. We will definitely stop by again!

This little gem is worth its weight in gold! The meat is so tinder it melts in your mouth! The vegetables, cabbage and spinach was beyond belief, bursting with flavors that tantalizingly makes your palate say, “Wow”. The atmosphere is perfectly balanced with conversation and good music! 20/10!

I ordered online, and when I went to pick up my order, I was met with confusion, as if they hadn't even checked their online ordering system for pending orders. When I finally received my order (4 patties), they were soggy/wet in the middle and tough/chewy around the outer crust. These had clearly been microwaved. If I wanted a soggy, microwaved patty, I would have gone to the grocery store and bought a box of Golden Krust patties at 2 for $4, not spent $6 per patty on 4 patties. Shameful.

I initially deleted my first review to provide a more detailed and accurate account of my experience at this establishment. To start, the customer service was practically nonexistent. We were the only customers in the restaurant, yet there was never an employee available to assist us. It seemed like the staff remained in the kitchen the entire time, leaving us unattended. I paid $38 for a plate of chicken and rice that was, at best, mediocre. As a chef, I can confidently say the food was not fresh it tasted stale, like it had been sitting for days and simply reheated. I don’t mind paying for food, even if it’s not perfect, but if you’re charging premium prices, the least you can do is serve fresh meals. The restaurant is called “Cubana Afro Jamaican Grill,” yet there was nothing authentically Cuban or Jamaican about the food. I was born and raised in Jamaica, so I know what these dishes are supposed to taste like. The flavors here were completely off. For example, rice and peas a stapleis not meant to be sweet, yet theirs was overwhelmingly sugary. The “jerk” chicken lacked any real jerk flavor and tasted like plain seasoned grilled chicken. The curry chicken was also off, leaning more sweet than savory and not resembling traditional curry at all. After reading other reviews, I agree with those who questioned the authenticity of the high ratings. If you truly appreciate good food, it’s hard to understand how this place is rated so highly. Lastly, the pricing is excessive and unjustified. The owner frequently responds to complaints by citing economic challenges, but that does not excuse overcharging customers. Utensils and packaging do not cost $15 per person. Oxtail prices, even at retail, do not justify charging $41 for just three small pieces—especially when it’s not even close to a pound. This is one of the worst examples of overpricing I’ve seen. Overall, I would not return and would not recommend this restaurant to others.
