In my opinion the employees are friendly, however almost every time I go to the location, I have to go back to the pickup counter to ask for items that the employees forgot, or to have them fix something they didn't get right. Also, I went at night and some of the dining room was roped off, and they served everyone's food in paper bags with no tray, even if you ordered for dine-in. It appears like they do this to not have to wash the dishes. For the price that you pay at Portillo's, that isn't really acceptable, as this is supposed to be considered "fast casual" which means they are supposed to be a "high quality self service" restaurant. I contacted corporate about my experience, and they replied back with a very weak canned response that read like it's the same response they send to everyone. The reply was very generic and made no mention of any of the details I sent to them. It was just a "we're sorry we didn't meet your expectations" and basically please give us another try. I would say for this location, pretty good food with lazy mediocre service at a relatively high price. For the price I paid for my bacon cheeseburger combo, I could have went to an actual sit down like Longhorn, Texas Roadhouse, Chili's, Applebees, etc. There is a 54th Street right across from Portillo's, next time I would probably choose them. I will pay the same, but actually have a sit down experience with a server.

We both ordered burgers and onion rings and both were outstanding. They have that flavor that takes you back many, many years when Burger King's charbroil burgers were actually good.
