First time trying Portillos. I was looking forward to the Chicago hot dogs - but was kinda disappointed. I had expected them to be nice plump juicy dogs - but they were not. Looked like the ones you get at the store in the dollar package honestly. For $13 meals, you'd think they were at least the size of those from Costco. Nope! 😟 But let me share some positive notes about them, my kid ordered a rodeo burger- it was a nice size burger with extra thick bacon, onion ring and BBQ sauce. It looked really good.. the fries were fresh as well. The dining room area is open and clean with lots of tables and booths inside. They have a covered patio for outside seating. Overall it's a nice place, I would go again, just don't get the Chicago hot dog meal and expect to be wowed. 😅

Tried for the first time in Chicago WhiteSox/Rangers Baseball game. The food was great. Went through drive through. Extra charge(stupid expensive) for the peppers, onions(huh?) When we got home and opened the bag we pulled out 3 sandwiches that looked like they were submerged in a bucket of water. The buns were so soaked they felt and tasted like a sponge. We threw away the buns and tried the meat; dry and NO flavor. Even with the "Gold Priced" peppers and Onions. Just bad. We also had tasteless fries. The only bright spot was the onions rings. All 4 of them were good. Where were the rest? Over priced and unbelievably horrible food.

This was our first time trying this place and it was rather disappointing. My chicken sandwich had so much mayonnaise, it was coming out in globs and everything inside kept sliding out. The onion rings were good and the strawberry shortcake dessert was probably the best thing they offered. My family wasn't impressed with their food either. It had plenty of seating and several kiosks for easy ordering.

Finally tried this place today after seeing a reel on Social media. I ordered for pick up. I was a little lost as it was my first time inside here. One of the workers looked at me and didn’t even greet me nor ask if I needed anything. I figured out where the pick up area was. I ordered the bacon cheese burger, fries, the chocolate cake, and a chocolate shake. The burger was pretty okay. Definitely Whataburger is better. The crinkles fries were pretty good though. Chocolate malt tasted like one from whataburger or sonic, so nothing special. Now the chocolate cake slice, that was the BEST thing out of my order. If I come back, it’ll be definitely for the cake

I had pretty high hopes because I love hotdogs. These are closer to what Texans consider sausages than actually hotdogs. There is a hard snap and chewy skin on the dogs. The bread is good. The chili cheese dog is slightly worse than weinershnitzel. The Chicago dog is kind of bland which was very surprising. The Italian beef sandwich with the peppers is the best thing we had, other than the amazing chocolate cake. I don't think we will be back unfortunately unless its just to get a piece of cake or cake shake.
