Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
I’m seriously worried about our future and glad I’m old and won’t live long enough to see the younger generation run this world.
I stop by late last night to get food in the drive thru.
My order came to $40.89, I gave the young lady a $50 bill and 4 quarters. She stared at me and said you gave me 4 quarters I said yes I know. I didn’t not want a bunch of singles is why I did this.
The young girl was totally dumbfounded. So she gets the lady in black shirt which I presume is a manager.
The manger comes to the window and hands me $37 and change. I said this is not my change. She looks at me like I just insulted her. She takes the money back and I kid you not I sat there for another ten minutes whiles they all discussed it, they literally couldn’t figure out how to give me a $10 bill and .11¢.
Now there’s a line of cars behind me and after a good 15-20 mins they give me my food. Yes it was absolutely cold by now. I just went home, I didn’t want to wait any longer. Plus figured I would get the ole spit in my food if I complained.
I sat there just laughing inside at how hard it was to figure it out without the register telling them how to do it.
When I looked at my receipt I know what started all this. The first girl put in just $50 tendered and when she had the quarters that sent her and the others brains into a mealy down, because the receipt said the change would be $9.11 and the extra dollar blew their minds.
God help us!

This location has the worst service we have ever experienced. We have had issues several times. In fact, almost every time. Staff is rude, apathetic, and incompetent. They do not know how to take an order. Today I ordered chicken strips and they just threw the strips in the box, didn’t even bother closing it, and threw the box in the bag. They did not include the gravy after we told them three times to make sure to include the gravy. The gravy they finally gave us was only half full. Staff would not come back to the window after we paid and lightly honked and tapped on the window. Whoever owns this franchise needs to fire the manager and staff and employ people who actually know how to and want to do their job.
