- JSJamie S1 day ago2.0Food was good, but not great. Turkey was never available, so I only tried the brisket. It wasn’t very flavorful nor had a smoky flavor. Brisket needed more salt and pepper. The coleslaw wasn’t better than any store bought premade coleslaw, but the warm potato salad/casserole was good. Employees at this bbq restaurant were all young people with not the greatest knowledge nor customer service skills. Girl didn’t know how much 1/4 lb of brisket was. WARNING: Do not leave your food or belongings at the dining table to go to the restroom! They cleaned the entire table and threw away all my belongings and 2 plates of bbq meals. Unbelievable! The dining area gets messy with trash and food left on tables and trash cans overflowing. Better to order bbq to go! HEB bbq restaurant is much better! Don’t really recommend.

We are out of town in a hotel, so we don’t have plates, honey, butter, etc. Apparently, this place doesn’t have those basic BBQ necessities either. Unbelievable. Next time we’re in town, even if it’s good, I think we’ll avoid. Customer service is important to us, especially in West Texas, where I thought it was a staple.

It’s set inside the United Grocery Store which is surprising but makes for a unique atmosphere. I had the Brisket and Turkey plate. It was above average for sure but not the best I have experienced. Brisket was moist and lean. The Turkey was the star for me. It had a great flavor and was very juicy. I wanted Banana Pudding but they were out by 1130 am…must be good.
