Tried On the Border after staying away for a while. We learned from the server they were bought out by Pappadeauxs. The food has absolutely improved and we will be back!

My wife and I stopped in for lunch at On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina and had a great experience. We started with the chips and salsa, which were really good. My wife ordered the quesadilla lunch with tortilla soup, and I had the steak fajita power bowl—both were amazing and full of flavor. I also enjoyed a house margarita, which was excellent. Overall, a very good lunch and we’ll definitely be back!

Idk what happened but they changed everything about this place. The chips and salsa are trash now and the food as a whole is terrible. You can tell they are cheaping out on ingredients now. I ordered beef enchiladas and it was basically chili wrapped in a tortilla. Its sad because I used to love this place but that bankruptcy definitely made a impact. Oh also it was almost completely empty when we went so I think most people agree with me. All these new reviews giving 5 stars have to be bots. Avoid this place at all costs.

Disgusting? I don't know. I refuse to eat there. The salsa was delicious. It is completely different now and like it is out of the microwave? The delicious queso they used to have? Changed. Awful.
If you want On The Border, it doesn't exist anymore. This is some sort of imitation rip off. The ownership change screwed up the food. I don't think the food was what was wrong with the corporate brand. Nothing was wrong with the Longview location.
They tried to fix what wasn't broken. I won't be back, unless they go back to the food, chips, salsa, and queso that we grew to love.

Finally! Great tex-mex in Longview! We moved here from Houston about 6 years ago. One of the things we missed from there is Pappasitos. Best tex-mex anywhere. We have tried all of the mexican food places in Longview and while some are quite good (Teles) none are quite at the same level. We ate at On the Border a couple times. Food was just so-so, and the place was always dirty, so we didn't go back. I heard that Pappasitos had recently bought On the Border, so we figured we would give it a shot and see if they made any changes. Boy did they! The chips and salsa are by far the best in Longview, the beef enchiladas tasted just like the ones from Pappasitos. The place was clean and the service was great. This is now our go to restaurant in Longview. If you haven't been since Pappasitos bought out On the Border you need to go back. The place is fantastic now!
