I understand when we went it was Christmas Eve, but at the same time, we went later in the evening and there was no excuse for waiting over an hour for our food when people who sat after us were getting their food..all we had were 2 salads and a burger. At least my grandsons kids meal came out quickly. The manager wasn't even friendly, she came to the table and gave excuses. I don't think I'll ever return to this steakhouse after this.

Amazing! We were there on New Year's Eve to celebrate my son's birthday. I had mentioned this in the reservation, and we got what I think was the best spot, right in front of the fireplace! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive! All in all, a wonderful experience! Our meals were all excellent!

Very disappointing experience. We ordered steak and ribs and waited almost an hour for the food to arrive. When it finally came, the ribs were completely burned. We asked for a replacement, only to be told that on a Friday night at 5:30 pm they were already out of ribs. Poor service, long wait time, and unacceptable food quality. Would not recommend.

We visited Saltgrass at Kemah on New Year’s Eve, and the experience was very disappointing. The service was extremely slow—kids’ meals took over an hour to arrive, and the kids were starving by the time food came. The food quality also missed the mark: both the salmon and the burger were very overcooked.
Although we were a large group, the staff tried to simplify payment by assigning numbers to each guest. Unfortunately, that system fell apart. It took more than 30 minutes just to receive the check, and the process became so chaotic that two waiters and three managers had to get involved. We even had to split up the families so the kids could go watch the fireworks while we waited. In the end, they resorted to handwriting our order just so we could finally pay.
Overall, the lack of organization and poor food quality ruined what should have been a festive evening. Not the experience we expected.

We booked our reservations for Christmas Day at the kemah location. Saltgrass is our go to every year. We usually go to the Galveston location but since the kemah location was open later we chose to go there. Our reservation was for 5 at 4 pm. It took us 35 minutes to find a parking spot after going into a parking lot that was deadlocked . We ended up exiting and finally finding spot on the street where it took us additional time as my husband is disabled. I had called the restaurant at 4:08 letting them know we were in a grid lock. The rest of our party younger than we are, made it in about 4:15. They ordered their drinks but still had not got them by the time we entered which was about 4:30.
We ordered drinks and appetizers fried mushrooms, cheese potatoes and chips with a fajita meat and cheese. All were tasty but there may have been a table spoon of meat. The drinks were tasty but must have been virgin absolutely no alcohol in my margaritas. Now for the meal it self. First off it took so long to get our meal my son and his friend had to leave because they had another family engagement. The staff came out and and said they were sorry but the were out of baked potatoes, ok that would have been fine with me. Then 15 minutes later our plates arrive with baked potatoes??? My son had the take their plates back because they needed to leave. The 3 of us stayed to eat our meal. First off the baked potatoes had a plop of sour cream 3 baked bits and no chives. Our baked potatoes were not cooked all the way through, I had them take my prime rib back because it wasn’t the cooked to my liking. When they brought it back it still wasn’t cooked enough, but I thought ok I will just take it home. They did bring me a potatoe that was cooked but with the same amount of bacon. I asked for chives and she said I’m sorry we are out! But says a few minutes later oh I found some but wasn’t chives but scallions. My husband prime rib was mostly fat as I would later found out so was mine. His potato wasn’t cooked enough , he just ate what he could. My brothers potato wasn’t cooked cooked but his top sirloin had so much msg on it he couldn’t it it all. We complained, but evidently there wasn’t anyone there that could make any compensation. They did offer free deserts or appetizers!!!!! What!!!! You actually think we will come back. ? Absolutely not!! Spent over 200.00 for a horrible Christmas Day dinner to top it off they have this guy going around taking pictures. He came by before we even had gotten our appetizers, so I thought what a great memory, so I bought one. Now I have that picture of the worst Christmas memory.
I recommend if your going to be open on a holiday make sure your staffed and you have enough food and alcohol .
