Food truck review I wish I could give them 100 stars because the customer service and the food was so delightful. Fresh and HOT. Everything was seasoned to perfection and not over powering. I will definitely be back again.

There are two versions of Tastee Buddies floating around Houston; a proper brick and mortar and this food truck parked out on North Fry. Let me be clear so there’s no confusion. This review is for the food truck at 3427 N Fry Rd in Katy. I came back because the first visit hit the right notes. Nothing life changing, but solid enough to earn a return trip. That’s usually how it works. You give a place another shot hoping it confirms your instincts. This time, it didn’t. From the moment I placed my order to the moment I got my food, we’re talking about a full 40 minutes. Not the kind of wait where you see a kitchen in the weeds, flames going, cooks hustling, something that at least signals effort. This felt different. Disorganized. Slow in a way that makes you question if anyone is actually steering the ship. Then came the part that really stings. I watched people who ordered after me get their food. One by one. No sense of order, no system. That’s when I stepped up and asked about my order. The employee turns around, spots a bag just sitting there, and hands it to me like it had been waiting for its moment. Who knows how long it had been sitting. Long enough to kill any excitement I had left. And the food tells the story. The cheesesteak, the supposed headliner, was brutally salty. Not seasoned, not bold, just overwhelmed. The kind of salt level that shuts your palate down after a few bites. I couldn’t finish it, and I’m not someone who walks away from a cheesesteak lightly. The cajun fries had potential. Good flavor, decent spice, but they arrived limp and soggy. Fries like that don’t happen fresh out of the fryer. They sit. They steam. They give up. Which lines up perfectly with that mystery bag sitting behind the counter. This is the kind of experience that turns a promising spot into a one time memory. The first visit got me through the door again. The second one made sure I won’t be back. Two stars out of five. Not because it’s hopeless, but because it’s inconsistent, and inconsistency is the fastest way to lose people in a city full of better options.

The chicken tenders were burnt. I wouldn’t advise to go here at all unless you like food that’s charred. 🤮 Never again will I waste my money on this business. You shouldn’t have even served this if it’s burnt. You could’ve done a whole new batch or just refunded me.

Let me start by saying I had high hopes for this place, especially for them to say they have the “best in the city”. Unfortunately this is untrue for the food truck in Katy. I ordered 2 cheesesteaks online (salmon & beef/chicken mix) only to find out after my order was nearly 10 mins behind that my Stay Kickn was unavailable. No problem right…wrong. They refunded me $13 for a $17 sandwich and kept the tax. So I just paid $27 dollars for a $18 sandwich worth of disappointment. The pics tell it all! Thrown together and BEYOND mediocre (like it came from a can..tuna fishing). I wont be back! You only get one “first impression”, & all I got was a price tag and one less sandwich. Service was not friendly and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone although they came strongly recommended.

Super good food, went to the katy location. Went out of my way to get this! Didn't disappoint, I dont normally like bell pepper or onions! But they made it taste super good, I would love to go to the main location to get it made by the man himself! Would definitely recommend
