Overall, I find this store incredible, with great variety and selection. However, I want to raise a concern about the Beer & Wine department.
During my tasting events as a brand ambassador, the manager, Mario Rodriguez, repeatedly singled me out while other tastings were happening nearby. His approach felt rude, intimidating, and unnecessarily focused on pushing sales.
While we do have sales goals, the companies I represent do not pressure ambassadors this way. Tastings are not only about immediate sales but also about product awareness and customer engagement.
I felt his actions were excessive and unprofessional, which negatively affected my experience and made me feel uncomfortable during my events.
Because of this experience, I decided not to apply for future events at this location.

Went to HEB today like I do every week and I feel like I need to let HEB know about the great customer service I received from my cashier Kristen. She always greets me with a big smile and is so friendly. Boy is she fast, I try tomorrow look for her line so I can check out quickly. Store is clean and well stocked with all the items I needed. Thumbs up to HEB on Nelson Way.
HEB is widely loved by shoppers for its wide selection of fresh groceries, strong store-brand products, and friendly in-store experience that reflects its long roots in Texas. Many customers appreciate the quality and variety of produce, meat, deli, and prepared foods, and find that HEB often carries items and local specialties that you won’t find at other grocery chains. The stores also tend to be well-staffed with employees who genuinely engage with customers and strive to help make shopping pleasant and efficient.
HEB’s online ordering and curbside pickup/delivery options are convenient for busy lifestyles, and the company frequently rolls out seasonal and unique products that keep the shopping experience fresh and exciting. While some shoppers note that prices can be higher than some big-box alternatives, many feel the quality and breadth of options are worth it. Overall, HEB continues to earn a loyal following for its community focus, product quality, and generally positive in-store service.

I can’t believe that after six years of living in this area, I was treated with such disrespect. I did what I always do grab my items and head to the checkout. As I was walking toward the register, I noticed a man point at me and tell the employee monitoring the checkout to watch me. I was shocked. I was on the phone at the time and immediately told my friend what had just happened.
The employee then proceeded to walk beside me, clearly attempting to see if I was going to steal something. I understand that theft happens and that stores need to take precautions. However, blatantly pointing me out and having someone watch me was extremely disrespectful and uncomfortable. If you felt the need to monitor customers, the least you could have done was be discreet.
I usually don’t speak up, but this situation made me feel so uncomfortable that I had to say something. You don’t know who I am, what I own, or how hard I work for my money. Being singled out like that makes it hard not to feel judged especially as a Black person. Anyone in my position would think the same.
I work hard for my money, and if I choose to spend it at your store, the least I expect is basic respect. Pointing me out as if stealing was a given is unacceptable. It’s 2026 do better!! Find other alternatives! There are other ways to prevent theft, and publicly singling someone out is not one of them.
