Very disappointing service. I placed a simple order for one sundae, waited 30 minutes, only to be told they never received it—even though I had the order number and my card was charged. When I asked for a refund, I was told I needed to wait until the drive-thru line was done. Extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I won’t be returning.

Never had a problem ordering my iced matcha with light ice (due to sensitivity to cold) went today and ordered a LARGE and they gave me a medium size in a large cup. Also, almost half of it was foam.

I downloaded their app during their grand opening after they encouraged customers to sign up. I placed an order on the app and went through the drive thru to pick it up. They handed me my coffee and the hash browns my son wanted, but they told me they were out of the Wicked Tin. I was fine with that and asked for a refund. I do not care about a ten dollar tin, but it is not the customer’s fault that there is a gap between the store and the app. It is unacceptable to take a customer’s money and then give them the runaround while you hold onto it.
The drive thru employee asked to see my phone, scrolled through my app, and told me she canceled the order and that I would get my refund in six days. She did not cancel anything. When I asked for a receipt, she rolled her eyes. I told her I wanted the issue handled right there instead of waiting days for a refund. She refused to help and told me to move my car.
I asked if she was the manager and she said yes. When I asked for her name, she told me it was Paula. I explained that I would not leave until my refund was resolved. She then demanded that I give back the coffee and the hash browns my child was waiting to eat, which felt completely wrong and unnecessary. She shut the window and ignored me.
Another manager named Eduardo came to the window. I asked him to remove her from the situation as she was escalating it, but he did not. As I tried to explain what happened, she kept yelling over him. He told me he could refuse service to anyone. I explained that I had not received any service and that they were keeping my money without providing anything. He said he was calling the police. I told him that was fine. As I pulled forward, he yelled that he had my license plate number, which felt like a threat in front of my child.
I decided to wait for the police since I was now being threatened. When the officers arrived, they agreed with me. I also told them this was a waste of their time. Police officers are not there to resolve a store’s customer service issues. They have real emergencies to respond to, and calling them for something like this was completely inappropriate. I was never a threat to anyone, yet the managers chose to act threatening toward me and my child instead of simply fixing the situation.
I also asked the officers for a receipt and the real names of the managers because I suspected the name Paula was false. The officers confirmed she had not given me her real name.
This situation felt like a bait and switch. They encouraged customers to use the app, did not have the item, refused to refund it properly, took food back from my child, and escalated everything by calling the police even though no laws were broken. My child did not understand why everything blew up the way it did, and no parent should have to deal with that over a simple order.
I have already contacted Dunkin Donuts corporate and have not heard anything back. I do not usually leave reviews, but this incident involved my child and turned into something it never should have. Thankfully I have three dash cams in my truck and the entire situation is recorded.
All of this happened over ten dollars. Instead of simply refunding the customer, they held onto the money, lost every car that was behind me, earned a negative review, and will continue to deal with the consequences going forward. In times like these I understand businesses may be struggling, but treating customers this way over such a small amount will only cost the business far more in the long run.
