The pre-made arrangements were priced at $45+, which I understand, but when I selected the flowers and vase separately, my total was around $20–$25. I asked an employee if they could simply put the flowers in the vase with water. She agreed, but then handed me a ticket for $34.99. When I asked why the price was so much higher, she said there was a “service fee” but refused to explain how much it was or how it was calculated. Charging extra for arranging flowers is understandable, but the lack of transparency was disappointing. A simple explanation or breakdown would have gone a long way. It felt like I was being charged significantly more for a very basic service without clear justification. I still like H-E-B overall, but this experience in the floral department could definitely be improved with better communication and pricing transparency.
