I recently visited Portillo’s in Humble and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The food was bland and mostly tasted like smoke, with very little seasoning or flavor beyond that. For a restaurant with such a strong reputation, I expected much better quality.
I was also surprised that most toppings are considered extras and come at an additional cost. It makes the meal feel incomplete unless you keep adding and paying more.
The service felt very minimal. You order from a screen and pick up your food at the window, with very little interaction or customer service involved. While the place itself looks nice and is well-designed, the overall dining experience does not match the atmosphere.
There are many local fast-food spots in the area that offer much better flavor, better value, and a more satisfying experience. I truly hope they improve the quality and overall customer experience.

Visited Portillos 3 times in the 4 days I was in Chicago so I was thrilled to see one opening in my hometown. Visited last night for the first time at the new Humble location. Ordered from the kiosk and food was ready in under 5 minutes. Staff were high energy, the place was hopping but everything was clean and moving fast- lots of smiles on everyone’s faces. Atmosphere is fun and cheerful and it’s not too loud in the restaurant- perfect to actually be able to have conversation with your table mates. I ordered the classic Italian beef sandwich with fries and a drink. Sandwich was delicious and filling, fries were crisp and well salted. It was so pleasant- this may be the new Friday night spot. There is the Italian beef with Italian sausage and the Chicago dog that I still need to try again, so I will definitely be back! Yay!

Came in here for the 1st time since they opened and I felt like I was in Chicago. The food was good, & Houston vibes was also there.
I ordered the polish hot dog just like when I'm in Chicago & the food is consistent. 5 stars all the way and you got to stop by if you're in the area.
Everything here is brand new as it just opened up not to long ago. Glad yall made your way to the "H".
This one's a hit. They have good staff & the decor on the inside is cool. I actually felt like I was in Chicago when I walked in. (First time was in Chicago).
This place is located right on the corner of 59 & 1960. You can't miss it. Glad I finally had time to stop in and check yall out.

I see all the haters came to comment . I have been going to Portillos since I was little growing up in Chicago. You have to know what to get and what they are known for which is the Italian beef’s dipped! If you don’t like dipped or the bread to get soggy then ask for the meat juice on the side so you can dip the sandwich in . The juice has the flavor ! also known for Hot dogs, polishes, the chicken chopped salad , chili , chocolate cake, tuna sandwich , cheese fries and the chocolate cake shake omg they put a whole piece of the chocolate cake in the mix ! So good . People also like the burgers . Yes there is no kids meals and everything you have to buy separate that’s just how it is. I went this past Sunday and it was delicious so what these people are complaining about idk my son loved it and he had the chicken tenders . Go give it a try for yourself and I promise you won’t be disappointed :)

I’m not sure what the hype is about. I tried it for the first time today. The price is definitely steep for being amusement park food. I paid $26.99 for just me and my 5 year old. First of all, they don’t just have kids meals like everyone else and everything is priced separately. Second, there’s no seasoning! Where’s the flavor? I got the crispy chicken sandwich. It was crazy thin and was more breading than it was chicken. My daughter’s chicken tenders had no seasoning at all and she wouldn’t eat them. Third, the cheese is nothing special. Everyone hyped the cheese up. For what??? It’s the plastic tasting cheese. It’s not even the Ricos brand that gets sold at ball parks. It tasted awful and I hated that I spent an extra buck on that. We won’t go there again.
