We had such an amazing experience at Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, and I just had to share! From the moment we walked in,....even with our dogs, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfectly cozy.
A huge shoutout to MJ, who truly made our visit unforgettable. Her service was top-tier—attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they really care about creating a great experience for their guests, and it absolutely shows.
The management team also deserves recognition. Everything ran so smoothly, and the level of professionalism and hospitality throughout the restaurant did not go unnoticed. It’s clear there’s a strong team behind the scenes making sure every detail is just right.
And of course, the food was incredible—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The bison meatloaf and the black and blue burger are excellent choices and absolute must-tries! Every bite was just as good as the last.
If you’re looking for a place with amazing food, outstanding service, and a welcoming vibe, this is it. We will definitely be back next time we are in Houston.
Next order of business....bring a Lazy Dog to Georgetown TX!

This was a hit on a rainy day!
We had two appetizers - Fried Devil Eggs; Korean Fried Chicken Bao. Both were good. Still on the fence about the bao and chicken.
I was craving the Fried Chicken Sandwich and went for it - YUM!
I opted for Truffle Fries.
My hubby had the Loco Moco Fried Rice and loved it. Huge portions.
Finished with the traditional Banana Pudding.
Our drinks were winners!
Hubby had the Moscow Mule and I had the Limoncello Basil Spritz!!!
I recommended this place for a low- key lunch or dinner.
Dogs are welcome (not a preference of mine)!
Great rating justified.
Service and atmosphere:
The is very nice and modern looking restaurant with many seating areas to choose from. Everything was clean and super well organised.
The staff were professional and polite. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive.
Food and drinks:
Impressive menu selection in both areas.
The menu offers variety of starter, burgers, poultry and fish mains, as well as good dessert options.
Starters - tikka masala meatball and refreshing cucumber.
Mains - wild caught sea bass and half pound burger.
Dessert - seasonal cheesecake with yuzu lime curd, black sesame crust, matcha tea dust, and vanilla whipped cream.
All foods were very well prepared and plated. All dishes were well seasoned and were full of flavours. Spot on!
Drink wise, they offer wast selection of alcoholic beverages with some great house craft beers.
Pricing:
$/$ - well worth it and you get what you paid for! The quality speaks for itself!
I recently visited Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar while in town for Easter. As a flight attendant with United Airlines, I travel often and always look forward to trying new places. I completely understood that the restaurant wasn’t accepting walk-ins due to the holiday rush—that was no issue at all.
However, upon sitting in the bar area, our initial experience was disappointing. We were greeted by Xavier, who unfortunately came across as unprofessional from the start. He didn’t introduce himself, never asked about allergies, and after taking our drink order, he never returned to check on us. What stood out the most was him openly stating that he wouldn’t be working there much longer and was planning to leave, which came across as very unprofessional and gave the impression that he didn’t care about the service or overall experience.
I do want to acknowledge that it was a busy Easter service, and I also come from a fine dining background as a bartender, so I understand the pressure. Still, basic attentiveness and professionalism should never fall short.
Thankfully, Grace stepped in and completely turned the experience around. She was kind, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of. Honestly, I don’t think we would have been able to order food or receive proper service without her presence behind the bar.
While the food was delicious, it did take about 2.5 hours to receive, which was quite a long wait. Overall, the quality of the food was great, but the service—especially at the start—left a lot to be desired.
With stronger consistency in service, this could easily be a much better experience.

I have to be honest. Pros: restaurant decor cute , good space in booth and tables, manager was very nice, waitress was attentive
Burger-10/10 2nd opinion said the same.
Craft chips 10/10
Would order both again.
Cons: deviled eggs- rubbery like they were cooked the day before and stored, inedible. Flavor on the whipped yoke was good, the fry on them were good. Egg was just not good inedible.
Strawberry lemonade- warm.taste was 10/10 but even with ice it was warm. Maybe store it in the cooler.
Silverware-mine was dirty and so was both of my glasses. One glass had visible hard food crust and stains all over it .
And the server gave a suggestion of tots instead of fries and didn't indicate there was a 2.50+.
That would have been good to know upfront.
And she charged me for free chips.
So an additional $9 of charges on a lunch. on top of a $15 tip for a $38 meal i half regretted. As good as the burger was idk if I'll be back, maybe.
Overall 7.5/10
