- SGSantos GMar 5, 20262.0UPDATE : Went back 4 days in a row. All avacados were green, both large and small. Some of the green ones should have been ripened by now. The times I came in were all before 9AM. Once before 7 AM on weekday. I then asked if they had any guacamole. Yes they did; 32 units of guac...made fresh daily. So the dept that makes the guacamole takes all the ripe ones (and I was advised that the process of making the guacamole starts before the store opens). Not certain why they would take all the ripe ones and not just half and leave some for the customers. If you are looking for avocados for dinner tonight, do not bother coming here. Last visit was the same. Going to El Rancho. Same price but they have all levels of ripeness. The ones currently at HEB/Kempwood are all green and won't be ready until Sunday the 8th of March. I put the rest of my groceries back. I don't think there is a shortage as the other store I mentioned seems to have ripe ones.
