- T2The Spot 2Oct 23, 20251.010/23/2025, approximately 9:25 PM I arrived at this Wendy’s around 9:25 PM. The lobby was closed, so I proceeded to the drive-thru window to place an order. I was in my Metro Transit uniform, which clearly indicates that I’m a bus operator. The first young lady at the window was polite but had difficulty understanding me, so she called for the manager. When the manager came, she asked the employee if the store was closed. The employee responded that the lobby was closed but the drive-thru was still open. I asked if I could place an order, and the manager looked me up and down before saying, “We can’t take orders like that.” I asked what she meant, and she explained that they don’t serve people who walk up to the window. I informed her that I drive buses and cannot bring a 40-foot bus through the drive-thru lane. She repeated that she couldn’t take my order. The lack of professionalism and customer service was disappointing. Rather than trying to offer a reasonable solution, I was dismissed without consideration. I ended up going next door to Jack in the Box, where the manager was courteous and happy to take my order without issue. This experience left a poor impression of Wendy’s management and highlights a need for better customer service training and understanding of unique situations like this one.
