Can barely hear myself think inside this restaurant. It is extremely loud. I have tinnitus so this was extremely disappointing. Our reservation was for 7:45 and we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. What is the point of even making a reservation. Can not recommend. Will not go back.

My filet was prepared perfectly. It was my first time trying fois grois, and I don't understand the value - not something I'd order again. The oysters and skillet potatoes were OK. I'd more likely try to scallops for an appetizer and the au gratin potatoes for a side next time. According to my brother, the Pappas Bros. in Dallas prepares the A5 Wagyu entirely differently, which he prefers.

My wife and I recently dined at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse in Houston, and it was hands-down the best steak dinner we’ve ever had at a restaurant. From the moment we sat down, the atmosphere was elegant and welcoming; perfect for our date night. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who made us feel right at home without being overbearing.
We both went for New York strips (Wife: boneless, Myself: Bone-In) cooked to absolute perfection: juicy, flavorful, and with that ideal char on the outside. The steaks were phenomenal but the sides elevated the meal. The au gratin potatoes topped with jalapeños added a subtle kick that balanced the richness beautifully. We also tried the broccolini with almonds and Parmesan (an off-menu gem, ask for it!), which was fresh, crunchy, and bursting with nutty, cheesy goodness. And the crab macaroni and cheese BAM! It was creamy, indulgent, and loaded with fresh crab, making it a standout side that could almost be a meal on its own.
To pair with dinner, my wife enjoyed a light and sweet Moscato, while I opted for a Malbec. Everything that came out of the kitchen was executed flawlessly; Pappas Bros. truly nails the basics and then some, knocking it out of the park with quality ingredients and precise preparation.
We capped off the evening with the turtle mousse tart for dessert—a decadent, chocolatey delight with caramel and pecans that was the perfect sweet ending without being overly heavy.
Overall, this was an amazing experience and about as solid a 5-star meal as you can get. Wow. If you’re craving an excellent steakhouse dinner in Houston, Pappas Bros. will become your go-to spot. Highly recommend, we’ll definitely be back.

We chose this restaurant for a New Year’s Eve dinner and it completely ruined the night. Our reservation was for 7:45 PM, yet we weren’t seated until 8:20 with no apology and no explanation. From the start, the service was careless and disorganized. Our waiter was inattentive, rushed every interaction, and made us feel like an inconvenience rather than paying guests.
The food was just as bad. The appetizers and salad were bland and forgettable. After waiting 45 minutes for our main course, our steaks arrived well done despite being ordered medium rare—an unacceptable mistake at any steakhouse, especially on a holiday. When we brought this up, there was no real effort to make it right.
At that point, we refused to waste any more of our evening. We grabbed dessert to go and left. The staff was rude, the service was incompetent, and the food was awful. This was hands down the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in Houston, and I would strongly recommend avoiding it especially for a special occasion.

We had reservations and let them know we would be running slightly late and we were extremely apologetic, but when we arrived they had us stand in the entrance for about 15 mins waiting for our table and it felt almost humiliating to just be standing in front of a bunch of people eating at their tables not even 10 ft away. Our server and a couple of other staff members helping serve food were very kind and that is the only reason why I can give it another star. When we received our steak it was raw on the inside. I understand medium rare is supposed to be very bloody but it was flat out raw. At this point I was really over the weird ambiance and didn’t want to have it sent back to be cooked longer so we just took it to go to eat at home. A group of men next to us were making uncomfortable loud comments about a female waitress and when we were leaving I assume it was someone in a managerial position, had a bad attitude towards a worker, which is not okay in front of customers or to your staff in general. The vibe felt weird for the price and it was very lackluster.
