I am giving this restaurant a 3/5 and here's why. The hostess was very nice and efficient. We didn't have a wait. Our waiter, Ahmed, was pleasant. He knew the menu and remained kind and professional through all of the other mishaps that were out of his control. My husband ordered the redfish with seafood on top and I ordered the shrimp and crawfish fondeau. I was told that they were out of crawfish and I could substitute it for something else. I selected crabmeat. Ahmed came back to the table and stated it would be a$15 upcharge for the crab. My husband and I couldn't understand why we would have to pay for something they ran out of. The manager came over and stated what it was with no attempt to resolve our issue, in my opinion. I decided to just order another dish. I ordered the jumbo bacon wrapped shrimp. Ahmed comes back to the table and says, "yall are going to hate me, but we are out of the jumbo shrimp. " As stated above, Ahmed played his part, which made this a little more tolerable so we definitely couldn't be mad with him. We asked for the manager again, and after talking through this again and letting him know that we were just going to leave, we went back to the original dish and the crab was added with no upcharge. After all of that time trying to order, we waited over 30 minutes for our food. The manager never came back to check in or make sure all of the food and everything was all good. The drink was good and that also made this situation more manageable in the moment. I can appreciate the restaurant being busy all day due to a large convention being in town, however being that you are in the location you are in, I'm sure you've dealt with large crowds and events before. The customer shouldn't have to feel that. With through it and do your best to be accommodating and empathetic. I hope this review changes

I’m extremely disappointed in Pappadeaux’s handling of a recent situation involving one of their employees. Instead of standing by their staff member after that employee spoke up about experiencing homophobia from a patron, the company chose to terminate the employee. Hospitality should include protecting your team from discrimination. When businesses fail to support employees who speak out against homophobic behavior, it sends a troubling message about whose comfort matters more. Creating an inclusive environment isn’t just about marketing — it’s about how leadership responds when bias actually shows up. In this case, the response appears to prioritize avoiding controversy over protecting staff from mistreatment. Until Pappadeaux demonstrates a clear commitment to standing against discrimination and supporting its employees, I can’t in good conscience recommend supporting this business.

I waited one hour on Sunday but I would have waited for two hours. The outstanding food along with the exceptional service made it all worth my time. Such a relaxed upscale feeling and great service of the trained staff made things flow with ease. This place would impress the most harsh critics. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself and a loved one to something special.

Had the salmon with lump crab shrimp and a scallop with manchego mashed potatoes. Both me and the person I was eating with had the same meal. It tasted phenomenal, but gave us both food poisoning. A lady we spoke to two days later had the same issue with the same meal

I ended up getting the bowl of shrimp / sausage which was about the same price as other people's food. But their plates were much bigger while my bowl of gumbo was exceptionally small - left the place still hungry. Otherwise the gumbo was very good - sizes could be bigger.
