Horrible experience. Where to start? The hostess forgot about me. Seated other guests who arrived after me. (I am guessing that since I am a woman traveling alone, she was hoping I would just sit in the bar. As it turns out, I never do that for obvious safety reasons!)
Once I was seated, she offered me no menu.
After that rough start, the server was horrible. She had no personality and was rude. She acted as if I was a bother rather than a paying customer.
The food was fine but the experience was awful. This place is loud and not well managed.
Will definitely find a new place when I come to this part of town for work.

If you’re looking for a consistent, high-quality seafood experience, Pappadeaux remains a heavy hitter. From the moment you pull up, the experience is seamless—starting with the easy parking, which is always a relief for a busy spot.
The Atmosphere & Service
The large dining area feels energetic but organized, and the nice window views provide a pleasant backdrop that keeps the space feeling open. I was particularly impressed by the attentive and polite staff; they managed the flow perfectly without making us feel rushed.
The Food
They still start you off right with that signature warm, fresh, crispy bread and butter—it’s hard not to fill up on it before the mains arrive.
I stopped in for their great lunch specials and opted for the Rainbow Trout. It was a standout dish for several reasons:
The Fish: A very large, fresh piece of trout, perfectly cooked.
The Toppings: The grilled shrimp and mushroom sauce added a rich, savory depth that elevated the whole plate.
The Rice: The shrimp and crab jasmine rice was incredibly flavorful, featuring a generous amount of crab meat.
The portion was very filling, proving that "lunch special" doesn't have to mean "small portion."
Verdict
With a full-service bar and consistently fresh seafood, it’s a reliable go-to for a business lunch or a nice family dinner. Whether you're there for the atmosphere or the trout, you likely won't leave hungry.

Went to this restaurant after work in hope to enjoy a nice dinner. Far from joy, being my first-time I visited this place, I needed a little more time to look the menu to make my decision. Apparently the waiter didn't like it. Nevertheless it took me five minutes to decide, the waiter kept me waiting for approximately twenty minutes. When finally I got my dinner, it was served in a oval plate which it was difficult to cut the vegetables within the dish. The plate was defective, it wobble every time I attempted to cut hard vegetables. Afraid that if put more force to it the plate would likely flip and the food would have landed on my clothes. Annoying nevertheless. I requested a go box. I don't think I would visit this place again.

This place never disappoints — it’s easily in my top three restaurants every time I visit Houston. We went on Valentine’s Day and I’m so glad my fiancé made reservations because it was packed. Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long at all.
I usually order the shrimp and grits, but this time I decided to switch it up and try the blackened catfish with lemon butter sauce, shrimp, and rice dressing — and when I tell you it was close-your-eyes good, I mean it. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.
What really made the experience even better was our waiter, Brandon. I never had to ask for a single thing — he stayed on top of everything from start to finish. That kind of service stands out, and I’ll definitely be asking for him when I come back.
If you’re in the Houston area and looking for a really good restaurant, this spot is absolutely worth it.

Unfortunately, this may be the last time I order from Pappadeaux. The large Chicken Tenderloin portion with dirty rice has been a fantastic choice for us but after COVID the portion sizes have shrunk and more every time I order. This time was very disappointing. It was small, my husband had to go into pick it up and then we realized the rice was not. The we a half empty side of rice. And order was just sitting there with other orders. Not worth the drive nor the money anymore - specially now- Flavor was good but too expensive for the portion "large" looks more small than their medium option.
