I thought this had uploaded last night, apparently it didn't.
Long time Landry user, first time visitor to this place. I had heard positive before so I decided to give it a shot.
I was very disappointed over all. In terms of service it was a combination of smaller things... waiter forgot our drinks, waiter forgot the refill on drinks and didn't bringing a water pitcher out for a table refill, most of our order came out wrong and had to be fixed, the bill took around 15 mins to do... it was just a lot for an upper level steak house.
In terms of the meal....I ordered an 8 oz med rare fillet and a baked potatoe, butter only. My steak was rare with portions leaning blue. The potatoe i ordered came out loaded and had to be sent back. My wife ordered a 6 oz
Fillet with a chimichuri topper. Her steak was tough and they forgot the topper. We would have said something about the steak quality but the waiter disappeared for a lot of the meal (as stated above and no it wasn't busy) we did get the topper and fixed potatoe.
For a Landrys place I was disappointed and would have much rather had salt grass, especially with the higher price point here. There are a lot of steak places in Houston, this will be towards the bottom of the list.

Lots of people visit King Ranch Kitchen for dinner, but this wonderful restaurant also is open for lunch! And we were there for lunch this trip. Many of the Kitchen's most popular dishes are available for lunch in lunch sized portions. We started with the mini empanada appetizer (5 on the plate). Well flavored and perfect. I had the King Ranch Chicken Enchilada Casserole. This was done in a small black iron skillet and prepared much like a quesadilla would be but far better. Accompanied by a cup of chili BBQ beans, the dish was just right for lunch. Service was prompt and courteous, just as one expects of a Landry's restaurant. Give it a try for lunch

NY Strip was very tender, ordered Medium Rare. Atmosphere was quiet enough to have a pleasant conversation. Casual Dress, which is what I like.
Service was not exceptional.
For the price of the food, we expected more. We didn't expect to be waited on continously, but we shouldn't have to ask for straws more than once.
In fact, everything that was asked for had to be asked twice.
Apparently there were specials, but we didn't know that until another waiter came over to the table next to us and we overheard.
Our servers name was Paul.

We had a fantastic experience at King Ranch Texas Kitchen! The quail, brisket queso, and calamari were amazing appetizers. I had the steak with asparagus, and my wife got the smoked turkey and brisket with beans, coleslaw, and potato salad — everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The carrot cake was the perfect way to end the night.
Erica was outstanding — attentive, friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of the entire time. We’ll definitely be back!

A great mid upscale restaurant & bar with 8 to 10 seats, they have a television behind the bar where sports are usually being shown.
The staff is younger whom are extremely effective and friendly, they know how to make polite small talk as they tend to your order especially if you have ordered your food to go. Everyone including what appeared to be the manager and assistant manager were making the rounds effortlessly tying in table touches with finesse and obviously keeping everything well put together and moving.
The deco is minimal but exactly how it should be for the function and station of the area and establishment.
Parking is on both sides if you happen to take a wrong turn you’ll still be able to park usually, take care to not chance it on weekends or busier days.
Overall excellent food that matches the vibe and flow of the place and I RECOMMEND it to anyone out on the town in the area to stop by, and make sure to tip your waiter/waitress it’s not only polite, it’s the right thing to do.
