Place looks great, and its located in a nice area. I wish I could say the same about the food and service. We asked for the 3 meat BBQ plate. Brisket was mostly fat, ribs were way over cooked/burned, sausage was good, coleslaw was mediocre, fries were good, asked for a side of Mac and cheese and it was cold as it had been sitting around for a bit, even my coke zero was flat. My wife's stake was not cooked the term she asked for, asked for the queso and brisket and came with a small pinch of meat lol very disappointed. As far as service. Our waitress was mostly talking and eating at the opposite end of the restaurant.

From the spotless dining room to our server’s spot-on recommendations, everything just worked. The drinks were delicious, the food was even better, and the whole experience felt easy and genuinely welcoming. It’s the kind of place that reminds you how good dining out can be when people care—and it shows. We left happy, full, and already planning a return visit.

I’ve had better experiences at King Ranch in the past, which is why this visit was disappointing. Our server, Erica, did not provide good customer service. A drink was spilled and it was not replaced, the spill was not cleaned up, and our plates were not cleared even after she saw the incident occur. We ended up having to ask another server for help. Overall, the situation was handled poorly and did not reflect the level of service I’ve experienced here before.

My wife and I went for the Christmas Buffet and our experience was not the standard that is known here. Having previously eaten at King Ranch during Happy Hour we expected the buffet would be reasonably good - for $59/head we’re not expecting excellent, but at least edible. However, it was pretty disastrous and borderline a health scare. The food was by and large, cold and not kept to temperature. We tried a few of the sides, at least the ones which weren’t finished - they tasted ok-good but temp was cool/cold on everything. The carving station, meat was cool temp and gravies were kept lukewarm at best - flavor again was ok but not great. When we went back for another plate once it had quietened down, they had no meat left at all - this was 15-20m before buffet finish time, which left us with some cold Mac n cheese and chicken nuggets (chicken bullets, they were SOLID). Some of the clean plates had food residue on them, more grossly some of the patrons were observed eating in the buffet hall instead of at their table. The service was good, although our server struggled initially to open the wine. Some suggestions for this in future: 1. Please maintain safe food temperatures, we’re lucky not to get sick here but cold plates and lukewarm food sitting out for hours is pretty risky. 2. Consider keeping empty options topped up regularly with fresh food. We both went up twice and in both occasions much of the options were out. 3. Keep food available up until buffet closing time, I overheard our server advising buffet was still available to another table at 3:45 despite us being aware there was no meat or some sides left, can’t imagine this would be a good experience for those diners. 4. Maybe play some Christmas music in the restaurant on Christmas Day?

I wanted to share my dining experience from December 20th around 2:20 PM. I’ve passed by your restaurant for over three years and finally decided to come in to dine. I made a reservation, and the associate I spoke with over the phone was very friendly and upbeat, which made me look forward to the visit. Unfortunately, my experience in person was disappointing. The server who assisted us seemed very uninterested and lacked basic people skills. She appeared bothered whenever we made a request. When I asked about menu recommendations and mentioned I was interested in the chicken-fried steak (specifically that I didn’t want the batter to fall apart), she was unhelpful. When the food arrived, it was poorly prepared, and the service continued to decline. At one point, the server spoke to us in a loud and rude tone, asking, “Is there anything else you need?” I mentioned the issue to an assistant manager, who seemed unsure of how to handle the situation. When the main manager came by, he stated he would take care of the food, but later I was told something different by the assistant manager. When I raised my dissatisfaction, he seemed unconcerned and went ahead to charge my card anyway. Given the combination of poor service, disappointing food, and lack of care from management, I don’t believe I should have been charged. I plan to dispute the charge with my credit card provider. This was truly the worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time, which is unfortunate because I had high hopes after hearing such good things about your restaurant.
