As she was scanning the items she was throwing them down the belt almost crushing the eggs with the milk. When it came to the check out process I was handing her the money and on the pin pad something kept popping up and I pressed enter 2x she then proceeded to tell me you keep canceling it. Put the money in the scanner, I told her I didn’t know what I was doing if she would explain to me the process I would know and she gave a very rude smart ass comment “ I’m sure you have been here before you know” I told her I have never been to Joe Vs her name was Ashley or Ashlen. Worst first time experience. Poor customer service. Sad to be treated like this the first time.

That’s when I realized Joe V’s is part of the HEB family. The easiest way to describe it is: Central Market is the premium tier, HEB is the standard, and Joe V’s is the more budget-friendly option. Whenever I’m in this part of town, I like to stop by and see if there are any good deals—and sometimes you really do find treasures. For example, I once bought an Italian soda at Central Market for around $3.99–$4.99, and later found the exact same soda here for about $1.99. Inventory is more limited, but the savings can be worth it. They also have some nice bakery items, and one of my favorite things about this location is their selection of Mexican candies. I’ve picked up Pulparindo candies and Lucas Spaghetti here multiple times. Checkout can be a bit chaotic, as many shoppers have full carts, while I’m usually just grabbing a few items. That said, they accept credit cards and there’s plenty of parking available. Overall, a great place to stop if you’re looking for bargains and unique finds.
