2nd RACIST INCIDENT FROM AN ASIAN IN THE DELI WITHIN 5-6 month time span. As I told management, I didn’t come to HEB deli for the WATERMELON CHICKEN AND HOT SAUCE RACIALLY MOTIVATED HATE SPEECH/INSULTS to me as a black woman from an employee. This particular Asian females name is Melinda. Yes she works in the deli and as I politely asked her if she had any spicy Gouda cheese she said no. I said okay thank u and walked away. This wonderful racist decided she would put on a show for the other Asian females standing there and shout at me IF U WANT SPICY GOUDA JUST POUR HOT SAUCE IN IT AND SMASH IT IN!!! This is what she yelled out at me as my back was turned and I was walking away. It stopped me in my tracks . I immediately pulled my basket over to finish my phone call and as soon as I was done on the phone I began recording and asked her what she said and yes she repeated it. I demanded her to call her manager and guess what?? She did the typical and called management as if she was a victim or being threatened and here comes two mangers and security for ME!!! The male that I spoke to who claims to be store manger name is Jacob. He did not seem to care which caused A lot more hurt, frustration and anger. I walked crying thru the store scrambling to gather the things I came to get for my children. It’s New Years Eve not many options available is the only reason I finished my shopping. These people are shameful and they don’t give a damn about their racist workers. Another manager Ty that claims to be the store manger as well called and added insult to injury with her intentionally careless tone and passive aggressive attitude says well I talked to them .her entire attitude was condescending careless and cruel which I also allowed to upset me. I also have both racist incidents recorded and will be filing a formal complaint with the EEOC since management had an opportunity to solve the problem but chose not to. smh shame on u people. Do better Melinda Jacob and Ty

I had a really bad experience with an employee at this H-E-B. She was rude and yanked items out of my hands while I was checking out. I was trying to put one item in a separate bag because it was for someone else. I wasn’t doing anything wrong, and I didn’t deserve to be treated like that. Customer service should be polite. Is it wrong to put one item in one bag?

I love HEB & what they do for the community however, this location seems to have a prejudice against Hispanic people. My aunt paid for a potato salad at self checkout and went back to deli to ask for a spoon and was accused of stealing a potato salad! They called security, a manager, and another employee and harassed her over an item that cost less than $3. They could have looked at the cameras or asked a partner if she checked out but instead they cornered her and took her to a room for 30 minutes to intimidate her - an elderly woman who barely speaks English. It was definitely a form of micro aggression.

I was afraid to make this post but I wanted to make it aware for anybody who decides to shop at HEB on bellaire and Highway 6 Yesterday I was grocery shopping alone of course, from the corner of my eye I saw a African American gentleman maybe 20s-30s on the phone I continued walking to the aisle I was in when he approached me I’m by myself in this aisle no one was around he asked me a question and I simply declined. The whole time during the rest of the shopping I was unease of the gentleman that approached me I decided to call my husband and stay on the line at this point I’m scared I informed the cashier what happened she informs me she’ll have someone walked to my car, as she’s talking to another coworker they are laughing and giggling, as im checking out the same guy is already finished checking out and walking around the same checking out area I’m at he goes in the little restaurant they have their and then pokes his head out. I’m not trying to be horrible but the cashier she has an autistic kid walk me to my car…. At this point I’m disappointed in how this worker is handling the situation… As we walk out the guy is also walking around the same area I walked to my car, the kid helped me put everything in my car and then left. Never again will I shop there.. very disappointed with this experience…
