My husband and I decided to have our wedding day dinner here with our family. We had a party of 14 and we arrived at approximately 330pm on a Tuesday. Once we were seated theu assigned our table woth only one server so naturally the service was extremely slow. Management did not assign a server assistant so it took forever for the chips and dips to be replenished as well as many of the party had to wait long periods of time without a beverage. The bean dip is to die for delicious, the food is pretty good, but the management is quite lacking. I only say this with many years of experience serving, bartending, and management.

I’ve faced worse in the Marines, but never expected discrimination and disrespect at Gloria’s Latin Cuisine in downtown Houston. Happened Nov 9, 2025 — the valet crossed the line. I served with honor. I expect to be treated with the same.

My husband and I recently visited Gloria’s, we were celebrating our 25th anniversary and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing due to how unprofessionally the situation was handled by the staff member Bianca and management Suzie. We were calm, respectful, paying customers — actively consuming and planning to continue our evening — when we were abruptly told to close out our tab due to us asking why we needed to give up our seats at the bar. We told management we understood policy but they have no signage or willing to at least give us head up. The way it was communicated was dismissive and completely lacking in professionalism. To make matters worse, management escalated the situation unnecessarily by involving the on-duty police officer. After hearing both sides, the officer actually sided with us, and told management they should comply with our request. Acknowledging that we hadn’t done anything wrong and that the situation should have been handled better by the establishment. It’s important to note that my husband is a Director of Operations in the restaurant industry, so he mainly understands how hospitality and guest relations should be managed. What happened here was an unfortunate example of poor leadership, lack of communication, and complete disregard for basic customer service standards. That said, we do want to recognize Jose, our bartender, who was fantastic from start to finish. He was professional, attentive, and kind throughout the entire experience — so much so that we still left him a tip of over 25%. Jose was the only bright spot in an otherwise disappointing visit. We hope management takes this as constructive feedback and reevaluates how situations like this are handled in the future. Guests deserve to be treated with respect and professionalism — not hostility and poor judgment.

The food was absolutely delicious, it’s officially my favorite place to eat Mexican food. The ceviche tostadas was amazing, the fajita was perfect and omg, the plantains were the BEST (I’m a huge fan of sweet fried plantains and these are the best, by far). And the margaritas, cheap and suuuuuper good. 10/10

I went to celebrate my birthday at this restaurant and unfortunately had a terrible experience. My phone disappeared inside the establishment, and when I contacted the staff, they initially denied having it. Hours later, after tracking it through my phone company, the location showed inside the same restaurant. When I called again and confronted them with that information, they finally admitted it was there. I find it extremely unprofessional and disappointing how dishonest and non-transparent this place is. Are they so desperate that they have to steal from customers? That’s why I will be reporting this incident to the Sheriff’s Office. I do not recommend coming here — especially if you value your safety and your belongings.
