  I’ve given Gatlin’s two opportunities to win me over, one visit on my own and another as a guest. Unfortunately, both experiences fell short. The brisket sandwich on my first visit lacked tenderness and depth of flavor. Hoping for improvement, I tried the half chicken dinner during my second visit, but it was disappointingly dry and unseasoned. Was so dry it needed its own drink. While the staff was polite and the atmosphere welcoming, the food quality simply didn’t match the reputation. Regrettably, Gatlin’s won’t be a return stop for me.

  Normally I don't write bad reviews but I had to make time for this one due to all the hype about Gatlin's. Went for lunch today and the food took 15-20 minutes to come out. There weren't very many people so that's not an excuse. Then when I asked why it was taking so long, the young lady didn't answer my question and said it's almost ready without even checking. Then I rephrased and stated that it shouldn't take 15mn to serve food that's already cooked! She did give me an ugly face, which I expected. No big deal. The 1 star for service is for the kitchen staff taking too long to plate food that's already cooked. The food was mid at best so it gets a 3. Atmosphere was "meh". Never going back. Too many options to deal with that sort of service. And for the prices they charge? No thanks.

  Came in around 1pm…Service was terrible. Front counter clerk had an attitude of some sort not sure why but was curt and rude. Food came out barely warm and was not good. Meat was dry (brisket & baby back ribs). Sides (yams) were not soft/cooked well enough. I spent around $33 for my meal and it definitely was not worth the price. I’m not sure how this place gets 4 stars because I have had better Barbeque at other Houston restaurants. I will not be coming back or referring customers.

  Yams were not cooked long enough, still a little hard; not melt in your mouth. Greens are full of stocks and crunchy (canned greens are softer); lacks flavor; needs some love. Banana pudding is nothing but jello mix; gummy and thick like cafeteria pudding; bananas were fresh; not creamy like homemade. Spicy sausage and ribs were good. I would buy my own bbq sauce in the future. Disappointed it doesn't have the same smoke and dry rub I remember. Rubs are salty like they used an all-purpose rub. 2.8 /5 - Edible but not with my money. Not excited about leftovers

  Consistently good barbecue in the area. Wide variety of options on their menu. Their breakfast tacos are amazing - I highly recommend trying them if you haven't! Online ordering is also nice and easy. They have a food locker they put your order in when ready, send you a text with an individual code, and it's a human-free interaction walking in and picking it up afterwards. If you haven't checked out this local BBQ restaurant, I certainly recommend giving it a shot.
