Am a frequent customer at the westheimer store. Unfortunately this morning, 8:45 ish, someone blew out a huge THCA "vape" cloud in the store, contaminating the whole area near the cafe and toward the check out area. I hapen to be very sensitive cannabaoids. This time it was very very strong, so much so that I had to leave the store. My suspicion and concern is that not only are customers doing this, but that workers may also be doing it. Vaping on the job is considered a national problem. Please do the necessary. Thank you.

Story Time: Visiting Central Market in Houston is like walking into a well-organized wonderland where everything smells delicious and looks like it was handpicked by someone with impeccable taste. The vibe? Pure energy. It’s bright, bustling, and clean enough to make you question your own housekeeping skills. From exotic cooking oils to artisanal chocolates, every aisle is a mini adventure. The natural oils section alone could double as a small museum of “things you didn’t know you needed until now.”Bonus points for the catering department—yes, they have one—and they seem ready to turn any event into a gourmet dream. Now for the tiny plot twist: the bakery. While many sing praises of the pastries and cakes, my taste buds weren’t entirely convinced. The textures leaned a bit dry, and the flavor sparkled less than I hoped—especially for a dessert table auditioning for an upcoming big event.A word to newcomers: bring breadcrumbs (figuratively). The layout is a delightful labyrinth—equal parts charm and confusion. You’ll either find inner peace or accidentally circle the olive bar twice. My only real villain in this story? The parking lot. Let’s just say it competes in chaos with Houston traffic itself. All in all, a market worth the (literal) twists and turns—just maybe grab your cakes elsewhere.

We went into the Central market in San Felipe looking for a drink. The way that you go into a grocery store. You know when they check out they have drinks before they check out. All we met was arrogant attendance. Any worker that we asked we said where could we get a soda? We even went ahead and I said like a diet Coke. They look down their nose at us and said we don't sell that here. They could have recommended another soda or were their cold drinks were. Not just soda sham us. It just seems that everybody is out of control.

Love this Central Market, great selection and some of the most authentic Italian meats available in Houston, and I've looked far and wide. Great selection with great items, many of which that you wouldn't find at an H-E-B, though enough that you would that you can do most or all of your usual shopping there. Premade meals are the best though from a pricing standpoint, the big boxes are much cheaper for the amount that they get. The deli is great and employees are very good, especially Oscar, who is frequently on duty. He always helps give good suggestions on what to buy and has quick service, which is especially helpful during peak shopping times.

2/21/26 - Worst grocery shopping experience I've ever had. We decided to have Blackened Redfish for dinner, so we started looking for fish markets to get the fish. We found this market, which seemed very impressive. We traveled 3 hours just to experience such a nice-looking "quality" market. As gourmet mushroom farmers the most interesting thing to us was the fact that they sell "fresh" gourmet mushrooms in store. There was a very wide selection of mushrooms, but I was immediately taken aback by the poor quality of the mushrooms out on display. There is no way I would sell mushrooms to consumers in that condition. Consuming old or spoiled mushrooms is ill-advised and can make you very sick. Even their freshest-looking mushrooms were far past anything I would be comfortable selling. We throw them out when they get to that point. The selection of exotic fruits was impressive, I was looking forward to seeing their selection. We make it to the fish/meat section and acquire red fish and lamb chops. From that point on, we had employees following us around the store as if they were profiling us. The only kind employee we encountered was the gentleman behind the fish counter. The gentleman at the bread counter was extremely rude, as if he were bothered by someone looking at the vast selection of breads out on display. It was overcrowded and hard to even look around or move around the store. They even had two of the employees who were following us around high-fiving right in front of us after we paid. Extremely insulting experience, racist and classist. They can have their pompous grocery store. Not to mention it's HEB which is considered the trash grocery store where I come from, but hey they figured out how to cater to the pretentious amongst central Houston. Good for them.
