We visited this restaurant yesterday to celebrate my grandmother’s and grandfather’s birthdays. It was everyone’s first time dining there, as it had been recommended by a family friend. Unfortunately, the food was extremely bland and lacked seasoning.
We ordered catfish and fries, gumbo, spinach dip, and bread, and my grandmother ordered a pasta dish. While the pasta was just okay, it was not worth the $30 price tag—especially when comparable pasta at Chili’s for around $16 has much more flavor. The only items that had any real taste were the spinach dip, the fries, and the bread. Everything else was very disappointing. The catfish tasted unusual and seemed to have nothing added besides cornmeal for texture, and the fried shrimp was the same—no seasoning at all. The gumbo tasted like plain beef broth with flavorless shrimp, dry shredded chicken breast, rice, and green onions.
On a positive note, the atmosphere was nice, the restaurant was clean, the waitress was friendly, and parking was free and easily available. However, if you’re looking for flavorful seafood, this is not the place. If you prefer bland dishes with minimal seasoning in an otherwise great atmosphere, then this restaurant may work for you.
