This is a premier destination for any significant celebration. The culinary quality is excellent, but the true standout is the 150,000-gallon aquarium. Featuring an impressive array of over 200 marine specimens—including sharks, rays, and five/six-foot-long tropical fish—it provides a first-class atmosphere that is both educational and visually stunning. Highly recommended for those seeking a disciplined balance of fine dining and unique entertainment.

My best friend and I had a wonderful experience at the Aquarium Restaurant. We did have to wait a bit before being helped, but honestly, we didn’t mind at all. The atmosphere and experience made it worth it. Later on, the manager (I believe her name was Tashy) came over and personally apologized for the wait, even though we reassured her it was no problem. To our surprise, she generously comped our entry, which was such a thoughtful and kind gesture. That level of customer service truly stood out to us. We really enjoyed our time here and would absolutely recommend this place. We’re definitely looking forward to coming back! 🐠✨

Do not visit the Houston Downtown Aquarium Restaurant if you plan to attend a show and arrive on time! We had tickets to Beauty and the Beast on Saturday night at the Hobby Center at 7:30pm. I made a 5:45pm reservation for my party of 5 thinking it would allow us enough time. Boy, was I wrong! From the moment we walked in, I knew we were in trouble. We checked in downstairs and my party was standing in front of the upstairs hostess stand at 5:44pm. I was not acknowledged at first. Instead the “manager” and host continued with their conversation. The host finally took my ticket and said it would be about 5 minutes while they cleaned off our table. There were two parties in front of us that were seated and then my party sat for several minutes without any other patrons in the lobby. We continued to wait patiently and then it got busy. As we continued to wait, additional groups, some bigger and some smaller, walked in and got seated. At almost 6:00pm I spoke to the hostess and inquired about our table as another party of two with a 5:45 reservation also asked about their table. We both stated we had theater tickets. Once again they claimed they were cleaning off the table. I said I was surprised it took 15 minutes to clean a table. We waited another 5 minutes and then I asked about our table again. At this point the manager came and started making excuses. She was kind and offered to comp our parking and pay for an appetizer. We were finally seated 25 minutes after our reservation time. When we were seated the waiter arrived promptly, and we told him we had theater tickets and would order our food with our drink order. This was at 6:10pm. At 6:45pm our entrees were still not at the table. It appeared that our waiter was two tables over cleaning and sweeping the floor. When we finally got his attention we stated we had 10 minutes to eat and where was our food. Our food was finally brought out at 6:50pm. The “nice manager” never came to our table to fulfill her promise of comped parking or free appetizer. I had to inform the waiter who had to go find her which also took additional time. As we waited for our food, we noticed tables around us sat empty for the majority of our visit. So not sure if the wait was from poor management, inability to understand how to manage tables on a busy night (I was a hostess at Pappasitos and know there is a science to it), or understaffing. All I know is you either better plan for at least three hours before your show or not even try this place if you want to make your theater show in time. I know we will think twice before visiting again!

Came here for my fiancé and I’s 5 year anniversary and we were blown away. We started with two dozen oysters (Isle of Dauphine & Grand Batture) and they were incredible! Next we got a half order of fried chicken and an order of red fish on the half shell. We have gone to tons of restaurants in Houston & this was by far the best fried chicken and best fish we’ve ever had. Not to mention, the homemade biscuits melt in your mouth! To top it off, our server Jose was exceptional. I highly recommend La Lucha, you won’t be disappointed!
