I live near this store, so it's my go to for quicker trips, but I also will buy a cart load from here. For the most part, my experience is fine. As a former grocery store employee, having worked the front end, Deli, and grocery, I tend to be a little critical when I shop. Some sale items out. I get it though. It was after 6pm on Sunday. That's on me. Where I cannot look past and take the blame is on the check out staff. Yes I know. I could use the self checkout, but I really dislike self checkouts or kiosks. So, I choose to get in the 1 open checkout line. I'm in no rush. Young man Joseph is checking out a lady 2 people in front of me. There was obviously an issue with the total, or a price, something. I don't know, but the conversation sort of ended with "You can go to customer service. You already paid" I could tell she was annoyed. She also had to ask for more bags to bag her groceries. Next lady, he was a little rude to as well. Very little interaction. Now I am up. I don't get a greeting. I get silence. Not until an Instacart guy shows up do I hear him say anything. It was directed at the Instacart guy. Not even me. His customer. So now I am matching your energy. So I stood there. I stood there and watched my groceries pile up. I also watched him bag up my groceries and not so gently drop my bags into my cart. Joseph, let me teach you that frozen foods don't get bagged with fresh produce. Cleaning supplies don't get bagged with raspberries and meats don't get packed with snack foods. When are we getting a Trader Joe's? Think I'll just drive the 22 minutes to HEB for now on. Walmart has better service, even if your cashier is having a cell phone conversation on her Airpods.

I only have HEB and Walmart in my area. I'm a dedicated HEB shopper but it's nice to visit other stores. I was visiting family when we went to Tom Thumb. I liked the variety and the sales were surprising. I should've brought an ice chest so I could take someeat home lol. Will definitely be back.
