Went to have dinner at this On The Border close to our home. We had great service at the South Garland location recently and wanted to show our family how great the food is.
The experience was not 5 stars as the hostess was very rude when we walked in the door. No greeting- she did not even speak to us when we walked in. She then asked other servers if they wanted us in their section or not. From reading other reviews, she has done this before. Our server said she would take us in her section but then did not come to our table for almost 10 minutes. It felt like we were not wanted in the restaurant. I am glad we stayed as the food was great, but I think we will visit a different location in the future.

Our server was nice, but be warned that the restaurant was bought by Pappasitos and a lot has changed. Different chips, different salsa that is not as good. And they replaced the crispy onion strings on the southwest chicken tacos with grilled onions.

I want to highlight that our server Fabian was attentive and did a good job. The location itself and other staff members were highly unimpressive. Firstly, the hostess did not greet us and acted in a very bothered manner wish I had caught her name, she was a younger blonde. She openly discussed with a server shorter brunette if she wanted to serve us… which the server openly did not want our table. It was so bizarre to not only not be greeted but openly discussed like we weren’t even present. My husband went ahead and let the hostess know to give us to whomever wanted a highly generous tip other than the waitress who did not want to give our family their service. The women’s restroom quite literally makes you nauseous when entering, nothing makes you more intrigued to eat than the smell of raw sewage, it was disgusting. Our booth quite literally dipped in on one side and clearly was broken. Food was just okay, smaller portions but not terrible quality. I ordered a margarita and it was VERY sweet. Overall I can see why this location was not busy in comparison to neighboring restaurants. The entire atmosphere when entering and dining there is so drab and uninviting. I can definitely see why multiple on the boarder locations are shutting their doors around DFW. We were not at all impressed. We ensured to take care of our server very well who did a proper job. I couldn’t recommend dining here for anyone.

One of the worst experiences Iv had in a long time.
Got the Chicken Santa Fe not only did the order not get put in with my families. It didn’t get realized until after my family received their food.
After finally getting my food noticed the rice was cold and the chicken was way under cooked not really one for MR chicken.
Tuned out my wife didn’t even eat her chicken fajitas because her chicken wasn’t cooked either.
After getting our check seen that after all this they charged an automatic gratuity.

We ordered the beef, chicken, and shrimp fajitas. Everything was really delicious and made with high quality ingredients. I liked the fresh jalapeños on the side and the butter to drizzle on top. Chips were crispy and we really liked the new Papa style salsa! Everyone was so friendly and helpful from the time you walk in the door. Our server was incredibly attentive and kept our salsas and drinks filled. We really enjoyed it. Kid friendly too with kid’s menu/crayons and high chairs. We also loved the happy hour prices. We will definitely be back!
