“Absolutely outstanding experience at Lazy Dog—easily one of the best meals we’ve ever had!” From the moment we sat down, the staff made us feel like regulars. The manager/owner (not sure which, but he was awesome) brought over complimentary house-made chips with a smoky chipotle dip that was insanely addictive—such a perfect little “welcome” touch. We started with the “Pick 3” appetizer deal ($25) and chose the fried deviled eggs, French onion puff pastries with dip, and crispy Brussels sprouts. Every single one was phenomenal. The fried deviled eggs are life-changing—crispy outside, creamy inside, gone in seconds. Drinks were next-level creative. I had the candied bacon old fashioned (yes, actual candied bacon—trust me, it works), my wife loved the hibiscus margarita, and our son went wild for the coconut-lime cream Coca-Cola “dirty” style that tasted like a boozy ice-cream float. They weren’t quite ready with the cream at first, so our server immediately brought him a regular Coke to tide him over—such a thoughtful move. Entrées were straight-up perfection. I ordered the pork poblano (served over rice with a purple corn tamale cake) and I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the best thing I’ve ever eaten. The sauce, the tenderness, the flavors—unreal. My wife got the campfire pot roast over mashed potatoes and we kept stealing bites from each other because both were that good. Our son tried bison for the first time with the bison burger and declared it the best burger he’s ever had. Even the fries were standout. We kept the drinks flowing—my wife did the sangria flight (the peach was our favorite) and I tried the peanut butter espresso martini that tasted like dessert in a glass. I could have had six. A couple Stella drafts rounded everything out perfectly. Finished with the huckleberry apple cinnamon pie à la mode—warm, gooey, cinnamon-y perfection with vanilla bean ice cream. Ideal ending. Our server was an absolute rockstar—super attentive , genuinely friendly, and made the whole night even better. The entire staff just seemed happy to be there. Lazy Dog is a scratch kitchen that actually delivers on the promise. We’re already planning our next visit. If you haven’t been, fix that immediately.

We tried Lazy Dog Bar & Grill for the first time tonight, and it instantly became one of our new favorite restaurants in the North Garland area. The menu is huge with tons of options, and everything we tried was truly outstanding. We started with the trio sampler, where you can choose any three of their small plates or bites. We picked the Brussels sprouts, the French onion pastry, and the deep-fried deviled eggs topped with candied bacon. Everything was incredibly flavorful — a great way to start the meal. For drinks, my husband ordered the Candied Bacon Old Fashioned and absolutely loved it. We all tried the candied bacon, and it was amazing. I had their seasonal hibiscus margarita, which was super refreshing and so good. We also each had a Stella draft. My son ordered the coconut cream lime Coca-Cola, and since it took them a little time to mix the cream together, our waitress thoughtfully brought him a regular Coke to start. His drink was worth the wait — it was fantastic. For our second round of drinks, I ordered the sangria sampler, which came with three different flavors — all delicious in their own way. My husband tried their peanut butter espresso martini, which he really enjoyed as well. For entrees, my son ordered the bison burger, and honestly, it was one of the best burgers any of us have ever tried. The fries were perfect — crispy and full of flavor. My husband ordered the poblano pork dish, which came with rice and a unique purple tamale cake that was surprisingly delicious and something none of us had ever heard of. I had the campfire pot roast served over mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach with classic pot roast veggies — pure comfort food and wonderfully seasoned. As first-time guests, the manager even brought us a complimentary appetizer of their house potato chips with a chipotle dipping sauce, which was such a nice touch and really tasty. The atmosphere is beautiful — warm woodwork, natural textures, and great lighting that creates a cozy, welcoming vibe. The service was excellent from beginning to end. Our waitress checked on us regularly and made sure we always had what we needed. We finished with the huckleberry cinnamon apple pie topped with ice cream, and it was the perfect ending — sweet, warm, and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be returning. Lazy Dog Bar & Grill gave us a wonderful experience all around!

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar consistently delivers great food, and this visit was no exception. Everything came out hot, fresh, and flavorful. Their craft beers are always a standout — definitely one of the reasons I enjoy coming here. Service was generally good, but there was one thing that could’ve been better. Our meals were dropped off and the server walked away without checking if we needed anything. It wasn’t until about 5–10 minutes later that the waiter came back to ask how everything was, and that’s when I finally had the chance to ask for ketchup. When you order fries, tots, or a cheeseburger without sauce, it would be nice if they offered condiments right when the food is served. Prices are a little on the higher side, but that’s expected and not a surprise. Overall, still a great place with good food, good beer, and a comfortable atmosphere. I’ll continue coming back.

My family and I visit very often on Wednesday nights, our kids love Family Night! We know it’s not always possible to have an activity or face painter, and that’s totally fine, but we really appreciate when the staff is kind about it. Tonight, I asked a manager if anything special was happening, and her attitude made me really uncomfortable. She told me they aren’t obligated to provide entertainment and that they’re “just a restaurant.” I wasn’t asking for anything special, just curious, it felt unnecessarily rude. We missed seeing Ms. Donna and her friendly smile tonight, she always makes our visits special along with a few other nice wait staff. It seems as though management needs the reminder that a little kindness goes a long way, especially with frequent customers who truly love this place.

A few days ago, Ladonna stopped by our pediatric urgent care with the most delicious brownies, cake with strawberry sauce, and some coupons. I’d never been to Lazy Dog before, but after an incredibly hard day at work, losing a patient and sending another to the ICU (both under 10 years old) I needed comfort and a little kindness. I called my husband and asked him to meet me at Lazy Dog since it was close by and new to us. From the moment we walked in, the experience was beyond amazing. Our server, Christen, was an absolute doll! Warm, attentive, and made us feel like we were dining right in her own home. She took great care of us and brought genuine kindness to every interaction. When we used the appetizer coupon that I received earlier in the week, Ladonna came out personally to thank us for dining there. She even returned the coupon because I had ordered the wrong appetizer and still gave us a discount on what we did order. Then, she invited us back to use the coupon on one of their “signature appetizers”next time. That level of thoughtfulness truly touched my heart. As we chatted, I mentioned how much I loved the strawberry cake and to my surprise, Ladonna had one sent out to me. After such an emotional day, her kindness brought me to tears. I gave her a hug, and she accepted it with the same warmth and compassion that had already made the night so special. I’ve never encountered such an amazing experience with such a dynamic team. From server to manager this was absolutely amazing! Kudos to Ladonna and Christen! Two incredible women who turned one of the hardest days of my 52 years into a moment of comfort, care, and humanity. The food was outstanding, the service unmatched, and the heart behind it all unforgettable. I can’t wait to dine here again. Lazy Dog, you’ve got lifelong fans now! ❤️🐾
