We went there for lunch today, Sunday at 1pm seeing the reviews. We went in and there was plenty of seating available but for whatever reason had to wait for 30mins to be seated. The hostess was not at all hospitable. She worked like she hates her job. The waitstaff was very sweet and the only redemming thing of our lunch. The food was médiocre at best. There was a huge argument between two staff. Shouting and screaming in the middle of the dinning room. During our lunch many people came in and were told to wait 20-30 mins so they left didn’t come back. The tables were mostly empty but people were not seated. The ambiance was nice but the food was just ordinary. I’m not sure of all the 5 star reviews but I did not get that experience.

Terrible experience at Landry’s. We waited nearly three hours and never received the meals we ordered. During that time we watched table after table that arrived after us get their drinks and full meals while we were still waiting.
It took over an hour just to receive a bottle of wine, and the only food we were ever brought was one appetizer. We even asked the manager if we could at least get some bread while waiting and that never showed up either.
By the time we finally canceled our order and left, we had been sitting there for hours with nothing but wine and one appetizer — and still paid $59.
The service was unbelievably poor. Our waitress clearly couldn’t keep up with her tables, and management didn’t do anything to fix the situation. Completely unacceptable and not somewhere I’d recommend.

We visited this restaurant on Monday with a large group of people (34). Although our first visit with the large group in Feb did not go so well, because of the amazing food and talks with manager Angela, we gave it another try. Very glad we did. Not only was the food amazing as always, the service was above and beyond. Kudos to the servers and the staff that helped them, kudos to the kitchen staff for the amazing food and Kudos to Angela for being an awesome Manager and for the amazing customer service. We will defin be back again both as a group and individual visits.

We recently had a small family gathering of 10 people for dinner on a Friday evening at Landry’s on the Galveston beachfront, and once again it did not disappoint. This was our second time dining here, and it continues to be one of our favorite places to eat when we visit.
My husband and I decided to share a plate that included an appetizer, a main course, and the option to add sides. The portions here are huge, so sharing worked out perfectly—and we still had leftovers to take home.
The fried fish was absolutely delicious. It had just the right amount of crispy crust without being overcooked. The shrimp brochette was also amazing, served with a rich garlicky butter sauce that honestly made you want to dip the bread in it to soak up every bit of flavor. The wedge salad was delicious and had a sprinkle of crispy bacon, red onions and split cherry tomatoes. This was large enough to share with another couple. The au gratin potatoes dish was also large portion and creamy and delicious.
The atmosphere and ambiance are romantic and relaxing, especially with the view of the beach while you dine. Of course, you do have to look past the busy street in front, but the beach view still makes it feel special.
Overall, great food, generous portions, and a lovely setting. We will definitely keep coming back.
We stopped at the Landry's Seafood House in Galveston and were genuinely impressed.
The standout was the lobster bisque. If you appreciate a proper lobster bisque, this one delivers. Rich, creamy, and full-bodied without being heavy. The flavor was deep and refined — the kind of dish that makes you want to go home and try to replicate it yourself. At $13, it’s more than fair. My wife and I shared it, and it was worth every dollar.
We also ordered the Captain’s Platter, and it did not disappoint. The fried shrimp, oysters, cod, stuffed shrimp, and calamari were all done right. Clean taste, not fishy, lightly coated, crisp without being greasy, and seasoned properly. The breading complemented the seafood instead of overpowering it. The sauces tied everything together nicely.
They also had a strong selection of beers on tap which we were happy to try . They also have an extensive wine list. If you enjoy wine or consider yourself a bit of a connoisseur, you’ll appreciate the options available.
Overall, a very pleasant experience from start to finish. We would absolutely return
