It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Ordered 3 onion rings. I was charged for 4 onion rings (after checking receipt later). They gave me 3 onion rings. Feels scammy.
Really slow service. Poor operations.

What stands out the most though is the service. The staff is usually friendly, patient, and keeps things moving even when it’s busy. It has that late-night, pull-up-with-your-friends vibe that just feels right.

I debated leaving a review, but after several visits I wanted to offer some constructive feedback.
I’ve been to this location a few times over the past year and unfortunately haven’t had a positive experience yet. The service has consistently felt slow or disorganized, and the food has been average at best.
On my first visit there was an issue with mayo on my order. The manager did make it right, which I appreciated, but it took around 30 minutes to resolve. Another time I placed a pickup order and waited quite a while even though the restaurant didn’t seem particularly busy. I also tried the drive-thru on a different visit and the meal didn’t feel very hot when I received it.
Most recently I came inside to pick up a mobile order. The restaurant appeared well staffed with only one other person waiting and one car in the drive-thru. An employee stood looking at me for a moment before I explained I was picking up a mobile order and gave my name. When my order was handed to me, the bottom of the bag was very greasy and wet.
I understand fast food environments can get busy, but after several visits the overall experience has been consistently underwhelming. I only treat myself to Whataburger a few times a year, and unfortunately all three visits this year were at this location and were disappointing.
I’ll likely try a different location next time, but I hope this feedback is helpful. With stronger organization, training, and attention to small details, the experience here could likely improve quite a bit. Willing to try again and update review if experience changes.
