I went through the drive through spirit before closing. I had parked in the lot for a moment to take a call before going through drive-thru. My steering wheel locked, and it took a good 20 (being generous) minutes to get my car started again turning the key with the wheel locked and all.
I just wanted a spicy sandwich and a frosty. I fully intended to be a quick and easy drive-thru customer before the window of 30 minute closing. Circumstances changed. I came to the speaker box around 12 45 rather than 12 15, as intended, and was told that frosty's were no longer available.
Look, I know this is a first world problem. Oh no, how could God allow this, oh my word I couldn't have my frosty oh no oh no...
I won't justify it, but my question and issue is pretty simple all in all: if you operate a business, and you are open, your array of products and services should be available. I don't think I'm reinventing the wheel with this thought and concept.
Just for example, I am employed at a premium steakhouse. If our hours of operation are to close at say, 10 pm; all cuts of steak and other items prepared in the kitchen are available for order until 10 pm.
Image if I were to say something like "we close at 10 pm, but we don't offer a filet after 9 pm because x y z..."
TLDR: I had a rather stressful day and went by Wendy's on the way home. My commute is about an hour. I had a mechanical malfunction in the lot. By the time it was resolved and I was able to start my car, a friggin frosty was no longer available to be served despite still being within the hours of operation.
I know this issue is not isolated nor location specific. Simply put, the fast food industry needs to be reminded that it is a convenience establishment and operation. If it is on your menu, it is available to be prepared and served.
Finally, I want to ensure that I am fully aware that this is not the fault of the young person operating the window and all that jazz. This is a management and corporate fault.
Do better. Your place in the world is that of convenience, not preference.

This place is going downhill bad. Customer service is horrendous and rude, gets annoyed when you ask too many questions about the menu. Starting to serve food that you can tell has been sitting out for quite a while, my chicken tenders were old, one had hair on them and my fries were old as well. Different packaging was given this time for the chicken tenders as well, instead of the enclosed box they normally come in, they were put in a pocket regular box like normal chicken nuggets come in. The food was also not hot, I should’ve taken pictures but I just was so disgusted that I threw it out. Fast food is not the best, but I figured if I’m paying over 10$ for food it should be at least hot let alone fresh. Very disappointed, hope things change here soon. The young dark haired woman at the Wendy also needs better customer service training.
