I’m on a strict regimen and always order the same thing: chicken and rice. When his coworker asked Justin whether I should be charged for a side of chicken and rice, Justin said no in front of me. That was fine—I paid for the $13 chicken bowl without issue. I then asked for a water cup with the full intention of getting water. However, the water fountain dispensed soda, and since I’m on a regiment, I used the other drink option available. Justin watched the entire interaction and then rudely told me I needed to pay for it, which I did. I have no problem paying—my issue was with how it was handled. First, the water option was not labeled, and I genuinely intended to get water only. Second, I paid for a water cup but was not given a standard-sized cup. This situation could have been addressed in many professional and respectful ways, but instead Justin approached me with an attitude that felt unnecessary and dismissive. Notably, he was noticeably friendlier to other customers afterward. I work in the corporate world and manage a team, and I know that if this were how we presented our product or treated customers, changes would be made. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I won’t be returning to this location.
