Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
I'm a Texas native but I live in Colorado so as soon as I get to Texas I try to make it to Whataburger as quick as I can. This one is just as good as all the rest in my opinion. Definitely recommend.

I come here often, I always order #1 JUST cheese and pickles. seven times out of ten I get mustard on it, I hate mustard. I seriously don't understand how this happens, I always check the receipt and mustard is never listed. Employees are nice though! Just wish the orders got more attention.

"The food here is solid—excellent portions, great sizes, and the staff provided genuinely good service. However, as a veteran who comes from a long line of military members, I left incredibly disappointed by this specific location’s lack of support for the troops.
In November 2024, Whataburger corporate proudly announced a policy offering a free 16oz hot or iced coffee to veterans and active-duty military 24/7, 365 days a year. I’ve been to numerous other Whataburger locations that happily honor this, alongside offering a standard military discount. Unfortunately, because this is a franchise, the owner and management of this specific Friendswood store have chosen to opt out of the corporate military program.
Friendswood generally has great service and community-focused stores, which makes this location's lack of support feel completely out of place. The manager clearly doesn't care and should be ashamed. It is a real shame to see a local owner choose to pinch pennies over a $2.19 cup of standard coffee rather than stand behind the corporate initiative to support our military. It is sad that this location tarnishes the Whataburger brand. Hopefully, they take note of this feedback. If not, I'll happily drive to another location."

Food is generally good. Every time we come in there are employees hanging out in the women's bathroom stalls. The one standout employee is a lady named Barbara. Service for dine-in is slow when the store is busy. Employees seem to need more training.

I don't know what is the problem with this location. Every single time I've ever been here, which will no longer continue, you will wait 20 minutes at least to get your damn food. I ordered two simple burgers and I had to sit in line for damn near half an hour then when they were brought out to me the burgers really weren't that warm. There seems to be a curse in friendswood because every single fast food place here absolutely sucks. If you go to any other city it's magically better.
