For us it is a hit or miss when going into any HEB. They are the monopoly in most areas in TX. We were in town for a mini vacation and had to grab some groceries. In order to get everything on the list you had to walk from one end of the store to the other end. This store is not conducive to the way we shop as everything in which we shop for is all over the place. We did notice they have a soup bar near the floral department & grab and go hot deli items. HEB is supposedly an employee-owned store as well. You think your employee-owned store would have happier employees. I am the minority in this state because I really miss my WinCo's, Safeway's, Trader Joes and Costco's. In the end HEB is worth it for the deals they have on a basis. However, they are usually out of stock of the normal things we buy. Lately it is half & half. Way too many stores to keep up with and keep everything stocked the right way!

The cashier I had was extremely rude. I was on register 13 at around 10pm. Younger girl, long dirty blonde hair, red complection. Unloaded my entire cart, not even a "hi" or "hello" when she started scanning items. She acted like I wasn't there. I bagged $140 worth of groceries by myself. While I am bagging my stuff she is turned around chatting it up with another employee. Never offered to help me bag, just acted like I was offending her by even shopping there. This is the last thing I would expect from HEB employees let alone HEB in Fredericksburg. This is a friendly community and this young lady was beyond rude. It was absolutely unacceptable!

As a rule I love the variety at HEB. Just don't buy the 10lb. bags of oranges. This is the first season where I have run into oranges that have been exposed to a freeze. The first bag I bought in early December were strawy, and tasteless inside. Obviously bad. I returned the bag after opening the first orange for a refund. No questions asked. Now in January almost the same problem, not as strawy, but tasteless, an obviously another exposure to a freeze. There needs to be feedback to the producers! I also buy the 10 lb. grapefruit bag, but they are fine. I didn't return it because I had no receipt. Hope you all get the message. Nobody wants tasteless oranges.
