I cannot believe how much money we wasted at this "Tex Mex" restaurant in Fort Worth. The outdoor seating area floors weren't clean as there were smashed french fries on the floor at the adjacent table. But let's talk about dinner itself First, the waiters switched on us in the middle of their dinner service. Second, the wait time on the food was abnormally high, perhaps you should hire another cook? Finally, not only was the food flavorless, but they skimped out and literally served 7 shrimp on a bed of onions (see picture). I do NOT recommend this place. On The Border? Please your name should be changed to On The Brink....thank me later

I was eating this morning and had tortillas with my meal. Now I don't know whether or not I should trust that food. I watched as a manager took her child up to the area where they make tortillas, and lift him up and let him grab not only the utensils but also the dough and start making some tortillas. I didn't realize this was a do it yourself friends and family invited type of environment but I don't think that's safe for a child nor sterile or sanitary for the food coming out of their. Is this what happens with the new changes in this conpany? Our server richard was great though!

I have never done this before but I had to make an account just to recall my experience tonight. I was relaxing in the restaurant, enjoying the food and the atmosphere. Two employees were talking over seating rotation and what sounded like actual work lingo, not just socializing, near me at the seating booth. All the way across the restaurant at the front of the kitchen, what I am assuming to be a manager, wearing leopard print, yelled very loudly at one of the employees and made an annoyed gesture with her hands to get back to work. At least three parties looked up from their meals, startled as well. I asked him if he got in trouble or what he did and he said not to worry about it it's a normal thing. That is extremely unprofessional and for that kind of yelling to be normalized in a professional restaurant and work environment is completely out of hand. Nobody but that level of small restraint should be allowed to manage. I'm too old for this drama. I go out to eat to have a good time and relax.

On the boarder has normally been one of my favorite restaurants. Although, I went this past weekend and found many things have changed. The salsa is now served warm and had very little flavor. Its very watery and tastes like ground black pepper, the queso is completely different. I would say the texture compares to a liquid glue. Flavor was not impressive. I always get the Birria tacos, when I had them during this last visit, those had changed as well. Flavor was very plain. The ingredients were very limited. I just had beef and cheese and a few onions in my taco. That was also all I could taste. Beef and onion. Rice and beans have changed as well. All together, I was no impressed and am afraid that this is the new normal, since being bought by another restaurant company. My issue with this, is if the restaurant is still going to hold its old name "on the boarder", it should hold onto its flavors and recipes. The people who go to on the boarder, go for what it is known for. I also need to add when we visited, the restaurant was practically empty, maybe one other table and some of the bar was occupied. It took forever for our food to come out, and when it did finally start to come out, there were large time gaps between our group getting their food. We had a group of 10, 7 of them had already been halfway through their plates before the last 3 received their plates and everything to go with it. The food was only warm.

To add on to my previous review, I went in again on my off day, today, Wednesday, October 22nd. I sat at the bartop around 4 or 430 time frame. The same bartender that was training with a trainee last time was there again, but this time she was alone. Same as last time, she kept disappearing. I didn't bother with small talk or inquires. Last week, my issue was that this Tender gave me attitude when I asked her to wipe the counter that was sticky and she replied "well I just wiped it why is it still sticky?" Today, besides disappearing for lengthy amounts of time, she also FREAKED out when the second shift employees started coming in. She started complaining, not attempting to hide her exasperation, that she suddenly needed everyone else to do HER job and duties for her so she could leave. It got annoying. Fast. "No one works for me anymore" and comments like that were mumbled but not even quietly. I think I heard someone call her Sharon. This Sharon woman couldn't get enough of hearing herself talk. I no longer want to come to this location. And no, I dont want to contact a corporate form or have anyone reach out to me.
