Central Market is one of those that feels less like a grocery run and more like an experience. Everything is intentionally elevated from the produce selection to the prepared foods and specialty sections. It’s the kind of store where you go in for a few items and end up slowing down just to take everything in. The bakery, deli, and hot food areas especially make it feel more curated than a standard grocery stop.
What stood out is how consistent the quality is across departments. Whether you’re grabbing a quick meal, stocking up for the week, or just wandering through for inspiration, it all feels fresh and well-maintained. It’s also noticeably busy but still organized, which says a lot about how well it’s run.
A little advice go when you actually have a little time, not when you’re rushed. This is not the kind of place where you want to speed through. The experience is better when you can browse slowly, sample a few things, and really take advantage of what makes it different from a typical grocery store.

I love Central Market for many reasons but so disappointed in the "new" rosemary bread. It was a good chewy bread somewhere between a chibatta and sourdough. The one I bought this week has the texture of fluffy Styrofoam. So disappointing

An absolute gem of a grocery store with wide variety. Love the Italian imported meats at the deli. Sony and Yasa rock it at the deli, they’re the only ones that can cut the deli meats thinly without shredding the meats and they are always friendly and provide fantastic customer service. It’s always a pleasure to see them behind the counter!

I'm not gonna sugar coat this, yes they may have a big selection of products and their parent company may be a Texas legend but I've never seen so many employees standing around doing absolutely nothing like I did on my first and now last visit there. I looked totally lost walking around the store and every time I would attempt to ask someone with a Central Market uniform on a question they seemed to get so busy all of a sudden that they walked away from me as I approached them. Totally unacceptable!! Then when I finally made it to a checkout line, the cashier didn't ask me if I had had found everything I was looking (which I didn't) , they then did their best to get me out of there so fast that that I couldn't keep up with what was being scanned and when I had questions about pricing the girl rolled her eyes at me in a way that made me feel like...How dare I question her!! And when I asked to speak with manager believing I was charges twice for several items Anna who identified herself as one of the managers assured me I wasn't without even looking at my receipt. It was another example of...How dare I question them
I had such an uncomfortable experience because it made it seem like if I had to question if I was charged twice for something I shouldn't be shopping there. And you know what, she's right, I will go back to shopping at Whole Food and Sprouts, where people actually care about my shopping experience, don't make me feel bad for having a question or questioning an issue about being overcharged.
I highly recommend avoiding this place at all cost because everyone there could care less about the people who choose to spend their hard earned money for the same quality food you can get at any other so called "Specialty Grocer!!! There's a Whole Foods not far from the location I visited Hulen Rd. I recommend going there or to a Kroger Marketplace.
I would have given it 0 stars but that wasn't an option!!
