  came here not knowing what i wanted a few days ago, and i had many questions luckily the cashier Enzo helped me out and was able to point me in a direction that I loved!! They have a lot of options for indecisive individuals like myself. I would definitely recommend the 2 meat plate an the brisket nachos. i definitely will be back thank you Enzo !

  As a new restaurant location they have a lot of kinks to work out, likely due to insufficient training. I ordered a family meal and chicken tenders for dine-in on 4/11/26 (#501400), and while the staff were friendly, they failed to provide my gallon of nonsweet tea, bread, sauce, and plates. The $60 family meal is supposed to feed up to four, but the pickles and onions quantity was good for two. The lean brisket had very thin bark on it, and was a little dry and flavorless. We had to pair each bite of the brisket with the salty but tender turkey to balance out the taste. The coleslaw was very good with sufficient crunch and not too sweet or sour. The mac & cheese was also good and used genuine cheese instead of powder, and the pasta wasn't overcooked. The facility was clean, and the tables and chairs were comfortable. I think the barbecue is better than average, but hopefully their service will improve over time.

  The True Texas BBQ inside HEB is pretty good. We stopped by for a family meal and it was great. My husband got the 2-meat plate with smoked turkey and brisket, and I got the 1-meat plate with brisket. Both plates came with sides of mac & cheese, beans, and slices of bread. Everything was delicious, but honestly, the smoked turkey was probably the best. We tried the peach cobbled as dessert which was okay. We also grabbed the chicken strips for our boys, and they absolutely loved them.

  I had an outstanding experience at HEB BBQ in Forney, TX, thanks in large part to Chris. He’s an absolute gem and has definitely earned my highest praise. I can’t wait to return!

  We decided to stop at HEB in Forney on our way home because we don't have one where we live, but we miss it from living in Houston. We grabbed some brisket at the True Texas BBQ before we left, and the food was amazing! I've never had such tender brisket, with a flavor worth writing home about. I ordered the lean brisket, but I also had some burnt ends that were outstanding. This place is a must-stop if you are in Forney.
