I was 2nd person in line when they opened at 11. My order was complete at 11:05. I didn’t get my food until 11:20. By 11:20 my brisket was barely warm. I ask about my order at 11:15 and was told the first order of the day was a large order and they go in a production line they’re not gonna just skip orders to get mine. I also heard the same woman tell a different couple they could not bring their basket inside. They said oh I didn’t know and she told them they passed 3 signs on the way in.

This was my first time visiting True Texas BBQ and H-E-B, and unfortunately, my experience was very unpleasant.
The main issue was with the cashier who was taking orders. She was extremely rude and unprofessional and should not be working at the front interacting with customers. People from different backgrounds visit establishments like this, and no employee should make customers feel unwelcome.
I ordered the brisket ramen and the Texas-size brisket burger, and my dad ordered a meat plate. While he was ordering, her attitude was already unprofessional, and we definitely did not feel welcomed. After he finished, I wanted to place my order, but she abruptly and rudely said she would let her colleague take it instead, and walked away in a dismissive manner.
Her colleague, on the other hand, was very polite and professional and provided a much better customer service experience.
I believe her name was Bree (not sure about the spelling). Regardless, her behavior did not reflect the level of professionalism expected from a place like True Texas BBQ or H-E-B.
The food itself was good, but the customer service from that employee left a very negative impression.

I ordered a 3 meat plate for my husband and a 2 meat plate for myself. My husband ordered the fatty brisket, sausage, and burnt ends. The burnt ends did not make it in the box. I ordered smoked white chicken and chopped brisket. The chicken was dry and rubbery. The chopped brisket looked like it was poured out of a box. It came in a sides container and was only half full. It was already mixed with bbq sauce. The only thing good about the food was the side dishes. We had the beans, mac and cheese, and banana pudding. I paid $45 for two meals and it was not worth it at all. I will definitely not be back.

I am so shocked! First time ever trying True Texas BBQ at HEB and we will be back!! We tried the turkey breast, pulled pork, brisket for meats and it was all very good! For the sides we tried the apple slaw, potato salad, collard greens and creamed corn. All very good! We got the food really fast.
All the staff were so friendly and professional, especially Erica! She made sure we had everything we needed and was so nice!!
Ask about the coupons! There was a free cinnamon churro pudding if you spend a certain amount but you need the coupon (it’s at the register counter)

The food was good. It was expensive (a little more so than some bbq places). My food was prepared with onions even though I said I didn’t want them. Then, they had no napkins! It was kind of crazy for a bbq place to run out of napkins. The lady at the front was not apologetic about that. She acted annoyed that I brought it up. I asked if I could at least have some of the disposable paper towels by their sink since bbq gets messy. She reluctantly gave me some. A very nice male employee showed up about 10-15 minutes later with some napkins. He took them to every table, and handed them out. I think his name tag said Chris. There was only 1 bathroom stall there. Multiple people were waiting in line to wash their hands. Even though they had a sign up telling employees proper hand washing techniques, and that you need to use a disposable towel after washing, there were none in the bathroom. They had only a hand dryer. The bathroom door opens toward you, not away when leaving. So, you had to grab the handle. This is not sanitary. I had to use my shirt to open the door to keep my hands clean. I imagine not everyone does this. While eating, I saw an employee walk to the back where they prepare the food. She sneezed directly into her hands. I am not so sure I ever want to eat there again. I wonder if any of them have taken a food safety course. If not for Chris, and the food being fresh, I would have given it 1 star.
