While some things have changed over the last few decades, El Pollo Loco's delivery of fresh, authentic food has not. Everything starts with whole chickens that are slowly marinated in a special recipe of herbs, spices, fruit juices and garlic. The chicken is then expertly fire-grilled to perfection the authentic way - on our signature open-flame grills - then hand cut into your favorite Mexican entrees. We put that same dedication and care into our handmade guacamole, salsas and dressings every day. At El Pollo Loco in El Paso, TX, we believe that when real food meets real fire the result is great taste that will keep you coming back again and again.
Many customers found the chicken to be dry, overcooked, and lacking flavor, with complaints about small portion sizes.
Service Issues
Numerous reviews highlighted poor service, including incorrect orders, long wait times, and unhelpful staff.
Cleanliness
Several customers reported unsanitary conditions in the dining area, with dirty tables and trash on the floor.
Positive Experiences
Despite the negative feedback, some customers praised the flavor of the food and the friendliness of the staff.

On a long drive from LA to San Antonio, I had an opportunity to visit this new El Pollo Loco location. On the most recent conference call, the Company noted the performance of this specific El Paso location (noting above avg sales) so I was curious.
I arrived at this location at 1pm on a Saturday and there were no seats available, I had to wait (I have a video to confirm). I ordered the two-piece leg & thighs, mac & cheese and rice. As for the reviews comparing to LA, I thought the overall experience was just as good (if not better).
Staff were very nice and location was very clean (inside and outside).
Food: 10/10, staff: 10/10

We were excited to try something new. We drove from the west side and arrived to order by 9:08pm. We were basically told that they were out of everything we tried ordering. Then the excuse was that they had to cook the chicken. We were dumbfounded because there was more than enough time before closing and we didn’t mind waiting, but the vibe/service was totally off, so we decided to cancel our order. The employee was very polite and apologized.

Im not one to ever get upset over fast food, even if my food is wrong, but this place finally made that happen. Ordered the salsa Verde chicken quesadilla. Menu said chicken, cheese, avocado green salsa. Nothing about guacamole, tomatoes, crema, etc inside of it. Guacamole does come with it but its a side with chips. NOT INSIDE.
Went to get my order and first thing I see is guacamole and tomatoes loaded inside of it. Went to the counter and it was like I asked them to solve the equation to gravity. After having told an older gentleman and other staff that I wanted my food how it was supposed to come, even reading off the menu exactly how its supposed to come, they then took it back and tried again. I see the guy make a new one and loads it with a spoonful of tomatoes( which i am allergic to tomatoes but thats beyond the point). And again nothing on the menu says anything about this. Its chicken, cheese and green salsa.
I lose it here after having told them 3 times how I wanted my food and how it was made wrong, I go ahead and just ask for a refund for my quesadilla. Come to find out like 5 minutes later after leaving, instead of refunding me, the older man CHARGES ME AGAIN for a quesadilla. These have to be the worst people working in fast food i have ever encountered. Absolutely brainless Individuals that had attitude when all they had to do was follow simple instructions and make the correct items that are on the menu. First and last time ever coming here.

wanted to love this place, heard much about it; but left disappointed and wondering if all locations where the same. I got the mexican cassar salad and a family meal + churros .they only had one type of salsa available and the guac was sold out.t I thought it would be comparable to another local grilled chicken spot but to my surprise the chicken is much smaller, pricier, and much less fresh. The mashed potatoes and mac n cheese taste like they were in a box and both flour and corn tortillas are store bought. The chicken in the salad was not fresh as well. Overall I would not be back since when I am craving grilled chicken; its usually something fresh or if not id go to the grocery store
