    So me and my husband have lived close for a 11/2 year we walk to the store for all our shopping because we are in the process of getting an automobile! WE ARE ALWAYS RESPECTABLE RECENTLY WE WERE ASKED TO LEAVE OUR BACKPACKS @ THE FRONT DUE TO PEOPLE STEALING!! BUT TODAY THE MANAGER TOLD ME AND MY HUSBAND WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE OUR BACKPACKS @ THE FRONT (that hold our wallets?) ANYMORE! We’re told we are NOT ALLOWED TO BRING THEM INSIDE!! IN FRONT OF ALOT OF CUSTOMERS EMBARASSING AND RIDCULING US IN FRONT IF EVERYONE AFTER DOING ALL OUR SHOPPING WITH THEM WEEKLY AND MONTHY!! I will not return! And I will be contacting somebody tomorrow!!

    I had a very concerning experience at the Tom Thumb located at 4625 Frankford Rd, Dallas, TX 75287 on March 7, 2026, around 11:50 a.m., involving a cashier named Ana Diaz. Before our items were scanned, my partner and I asked when we needed to scan our rewards card. I had the digital rewards card in my Apple Wallet, and the cashier motioned for my phone so she could scan it. Instead of scanning the barcode with the store scanner, she began navigating through my personal phone and the Tom Thumb app with both hands. When I looked at my phone screen, she was inside the app and not even in the rewards section. I immediately asked for my phone back because no employee should be navigating through a customer’s personal device. She then told me she needed to scan items using my phone, which I have never experienced before. My partner tried to locate a manager, but none came to assist. Another employee named Lucy came over and repeatedly told me “it’s okay” when I expressed concern about the cashier accessing my phone. That response was dismissive and did not address the serious privacy concern involved. Eventually the cashier simply scanned the rewards barcode and the transaction processed normally, with all coupons applying correctly—exactly what should have happened from the start. Customers should never have to worry about store employees navigating through their personal phones, and concerns about privacy should be taken seriously rather than dismissed. I hope management reviews this situation and provides better training regarding customer privacy and proper use of the rewards system.
