Barbecue RestaurantCaterer
Sonny Bryan, whose original vision for top-tier Texas barbecue is still alive and well, used to keep the restaurant open until the 800 pounds of meat ran out (usually around 1 pm). He’d spend the rest of the day riding his bicycle around town.
A lot has changed since the days of Sonny and his bicycle but we’re proud of the blend of old and new you’ll encounter while visiting our flagship store.
It’s easy to spot imposters in the barbecue industry. Looking for authentic barbecue that stands out among all the other briskets? We’ve got the roots and the history to prove you’re in the right place.

It's extremely overpriced considering they continue using Styrofoam for take out orders. If they used paper I could tolerate the price. I bought the 8 person family order 2lbs ribs one pound sliced brisket. The brisket was sliced too thick. The ribs were 8 ribs per pound. The cost was just over $100. Dollars. We got 1 quart BBQ beans, 1 quart coleslaw and 2 orders of onion rings.
For a family of three we squeezed 2 meals out of it.
Thinking of getting delivery for the same amount from Pecan Lodge which uses paper for the food and just has a nicer finish, juicier and is smoked to fall off the bone perfection with the greatest char.
Have been coming to Sonny Bryan's for over 40 years. They no longer have beef ribs which is the biggest disappointment.

Not the place I loved. Inwood site used to be my spot. I have no idea what they've done to the onion rings. I went last October and ordered them and they poured a box of some kind of salt seasoning on them. I tried again to see if was an error and told them do not put additional seasoning after frying. Absolutely terrible! The taste like they have removed the light salt seasoning from the mix and will add heavyhanded amounts after frying. Mine tasted like fried flour with no taste. More like milk and flour. The cole slaw and peach cobbler were both good. I no longer eat meat and when I was there last October the beans were spicy nasty. Big Onion Rings but no longer worth going.

We were in the area this past weekend and stopped by the Inwood location on Sunday afternoon for lunch. We entered and immediately placed our order with the friendly cashier. There were very few customers but it took at least 15-20 min to get two brisket sandwiches, no sides, no desserts. The sandwiches were very disappointing! I forgot to take a picture but they were small, flavorless and the meat was dry. Two sandwiches and a lemonade was $26! There was ample parking because it was the weekend. The restaurant in general is very dark, dingy and in desperate need of a renovation, both exterior and interior. There are much better options in the metroplex for BBQ. This was our first and last visit!
