Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Customer service experiences varied widely, with some staff being praised for their friendliness and attentiveness, while others were criticized for being rude or unprofessional.
Order Accuracy
Many customers reported issues with incorrect orders, leading to dissatisfaction and frustration.
Wait Times
Numerous reviews highlighted excessively long wait times in both the drive-thru and for in-store orders, often described as unacceptable for a fast food establishment.
Food Quality
While some customers enjoyed the food, others reported issues with food temperature and freshness, indicating inconsistency in food quality.
Cleanliness
Several customers noted unsanitary conditions in the dining area and restrooms, which detracted from their overall experience.

Messy property and very unfriendly staff the time I went . Maybe a new person, but the manager was going off on the drive thru cashier in front of everyone. I know he was embarrassed.. poor culture that may lead to a high turnover over and further impact the guest experience

Whataburger store #474 has been a big supporter of our campus, Thomas Jefferson High School (DallasISD). They have excellent and friendly service. They continually support our school with various sponsorships and donations for our staff and students. We appreciate Whataburger for their amazing support!

I had exceptional service from a woman finishing up her shift after working the night shift. I believe her name was Mavis or Maybel or something like that. She is real easy to pick out from the rest of the group of employees, she is my senior by a few years and I am 57 years old. After working the entire night, she was still bright and cheery as she greated me just as she was heading out of the office to clock out, it appeared. When she realized that no one had helped me yet, even though there had been a number of employees congregated around and near the registers. No one else either from the night shift or the day shift even acknowledged my existence even though they were all obviously on the clock doing tasks but mostly talking about nothing important cause I could hear their conversations very well. They would rather stand around and talk to their counterparts than get stuck helping a customer either at the end of shift and wanting to leave or at the beginning and just being lazy. Well, I ant to tell u that ur senior staff member put every one of her younger counterparts to shame. She was so sweet and helpful and took her time to make sure my order was right before she handed me the bag with a big smile on her face. U could tell she takes pride in the quality of the job that she does. It made my day to see her so happy and caring after I can only imagine a long night. To top it off as she was leaving we crossed paths again and even though she was clearly off she still took the time to tell me thank u for coming in and to have a nice day. U just don't run into an employee like her every day. I hope u let her know that she made a customers day that day and it was just the beginning of mine. U have a keeper don't forget it.
