Not the best place for a 1st date or business meeting. This place is a little on the loud side making it hard to hear private conversations. This is a busy place so don't come here unless you plan to sit for a while. This is not fast service. It's a big place with a lot of tables. Give your servers and staff some grace.
Food is flavorful. I got the spinach and crab dip. Served warm with toast. Friend got the Pasta Mardi Gras. Bit spicy for those who think pepper is hot. Classic Ceasar salad had just the right amount of dressing, crisp cold lettuce, with perfectly toasted garlic/herb croutons. Delicious.
It's a bit pricey, but you are paying for big portions of seafood. Staff is welcoming and kind. You can tell they work well together. (The one we encountered anyway)

Look someone who works here thought this would be funny. But when I let the mgr. On duty see the picture on the togo cup that was given to my grandson Mgr. tryed to suggest that i put it on cup,"no one that worked here would do this"so i placed a pic of a male penus on my togo cup for what reson never ask that my meal be discounted so why blame customer .
Poor mgr.training ,server was great , but mgr. On duty needs retraining in customer care.own it before you blame your customer for your short vision in customer care .Please show me how i benefit from bringing this too your attention and how customer care is a priority, not defensive additude or blame the customer for it is not what I was expecting from her.

Our family chose Pappadeaux on Oak Lawn to host a family lunch to celebrate my uncle's retirement and it was a horrible experience. First of all there was no one available to greet or direct us to our room which resulted in us having to look for the attendees and redirect them to the correct area.
Next there were several attendees that have a shellfish allergy and when we asked about options we were told no substitution s were allowed but there was a vegetarian option. We were also told there was no lemonade by one server then another server brought lemonade.
We had to ask for the complimentary bread which came out hard and cold along with hard, cold butter.
I am very disappointed that Pappadeaux did not live up to the standard or level of service I expect. This experience will make me think twice when planning a function and chosing where to dine.

Great atmosphere and great food. We had some issues with our food, the kitchen staff gave us bowls of gumbo instead of cups, and we had a pretty lengthy delay with our dessert; but our server was very kind and helpful and the manager stopped by and apologized for the long wait as well. It wasn't a very busy night, so it was probably just an off night for the kitchen. My wife and I weren't on a time crunch so that probably helped, but they ended up taking the dessert of the ticket even though I told them I still would be happy to pay for it. Minus the ticket times, our food was great and the staff and managers did a wonderful job.
