The food is not adding up to its standards anymore.. the rice is not authentic( instant and dry).. I ordered dirty rice and it was dry.. my sister pasta was dry.. I need them to get better cooks if they’re charging for authenticity!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but as a Dallas business owner dining with my family, I felt compelled to speak up about an experience we had several weeks before New Year’s at Pappadeaux’s. During our visit, I overheard a manager named Keely making repeated comments that were deeply inappropriate and disturbing. She made jokes and remarks about deportation, casually assuming that certain guests could or should be deported purely based on their appearance, Not only that but laughing and saying if anyone gets on her nerves today, she’s going to call ICE on them. without knowing anything about their background, race, or identity. Hearing someone speculate about people being “illegal” or make light of deporting others in a public dining environment was shocking and completely unacceptable. This was especially disturbing given that the vast majority of the staff she works alongside — servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff — are people of color, making these comments incredibly hypocritical coming from someone in a leadership role.I also overheard her making disparaging remarks about the race of one of her own employees, which was especially disturbing coming from someone in a management role. Beyond the comments, her demeanor felt rude and unwelcoming, lacking basic professionalism. Additionally, when she spoke with guests, she stood very close and visibly spit while talking — not intentionally, but enough to be uncomfortable and unhygienic in a restaurant setting. Overall, this behavior overshadowed the experience and reflects extremely poorly on the standards of professionalism and leadership being upheld at this location.

The manager at this location is horrible if it wasn’t for my family needing a place to eat before getting on the road I would have never picked this place up! To tell us we have to wait til the dinner shift to come in is absurd ! Then when we tried to break the tables down she says “no I have to keep the reservation . It’s Sunday why not schedule more people knowing this is a busy day

Visiting Dallas and have always wanted to visit one of these. Calamari/octopus appetizer was 11/10 do not skip. I had trout and shrimp, and the broiled/grilled shrimp were legendary. Butternut squash side also executed perfectly being not too soft. Service met expectations and draft beer was fresh and ice cold. Sad they didn't have any local craft beers. Gumbo was also delightful... Will certainly be back should I find myself near one again 🔥

I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but my experience during my recent visit needs to be shared. I was seated and later asked if I could move to a different table. This should have been a simple request, but the manager named Keely approached the situation with a very hostile and dismissive attitude. Instead of listening or trying to accommodate, her tone and body language felt aggressive and unwelcoming, which made the situation uncomfortable and unnecessary. Thankfully, another manager named Chantell stepped in and completely turned the experience around. Chantell was calm, respectful, and genuinely focused on making sure we was taken care of. She accommodated the request without issue and handled the situation exactly how a manager should with professionalism and care. It’s disappointing that one manager’s attitude can negatively impact the customer experience, but Chantell deserves recognition for doing an excellent job and representing the restaurant well. Management should take note of the difference in approach between the two.
