  I attended an event at Mercat in the private room + outside space and it was beyond an amazing experience!! Eliana the manager was especially kind and on top of every detail. She was a tremendous help and all her staff was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. Definitely consider Mercat for any of your special events! They did a phenomenal job hosting this baby shower brunch!

  The ambience is excellent and so were the staff. But the food is pretty awful. The salad was so so with some unintentional welted frisée. The scallops were completely burnt. And I got the cassoulet and the duck was not seasoned and dry and came from a frozen bag I think. And the beans on the bottom was worse then Taco Bell not seasoned at all and dry. Please do not eat there. Perhaps a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with the leek tart (the only descent dish). I left the whole entire dish of the cassoulet without a word back to the kitchen. I would think the manager would say something. But nothing!

  We came for brunch and had mixed feelings. The host was very nice and welcoming, and the food tasted okay. Unfortunately, the service really brought the experience down. Our food took about 35 minutes to arrive. My order tasted off, so I asked for it to be remade, and the replacement took another 15+ minutes. I asked to speak with the manager, she brought the food but didn’t ask what happened or offer an apology. On top of that, the waiter and had a poor attitude from the start, which made everything feel even more unpleasant. I don’t mind a busy brunch rush, but better communication and attitude would’ve made a big difference.

  When I say this food is good, I mean the steak frites and the sea bass made this yapper shut up. I cannot say enough about the flavors I experienced. Robust, umami, delicate, married, buttery, fresh, crisp, summery. From the drinks to the ricotta with honeycomb and orange marmalade, it was just divine. My server, Anthony, listened when I didn’t think he was even there and anticipated what I wanted when I wanted it. He made enjoying the food and the atmosphere effortless. I cannot wait to bring more people I love to share a meal with here. I highly recommend the espresso martini while you enjoy dessert- the hazelnut is a touch that sets it apart.
